Here is a video showing most of the process of loading and tipping sugar cane at the Arriga Mill on the Atherton Tablelands. I'm back doing it again. Working for a different company this time, am driving Kenworth T-359's fitted with ISM Cummins engines and 13 speed Road Rangers

Cool video mate I used to see these rowrow bins getting collected around the cane fields near Murwillumbah by mills transport bound for the condong sugar mill 👍

Hi, yes it quite different from the unloading of cut small sugarcanes at the mills. Here in Mauritius the truck raised the load, but in this video I saw that the system raised the trailer with it's loads all together. It's quite dangerous Anyway stay safe

Thanks for a brilliant tutorial on this little known operation (in the UK). I may build a 1/24 model of this trailer.

Hehe that's good but I just hope companies will give you a seat their insurance companies are a real pain when it comes to green drivers and things

***** Yeah that's true, I'd be happy starting at the bottom though, starting off in a rigid and move up to HC then MC. I think having my diesel tech qualification will be a helping hand in landing a job as a driver too.

I'd suggest getting the MC license and go for HC jobs that way you don't need to pay twice

That looks so precarious when reversing 😄. I can imagine it would be bad if not lined up completely and the bin rests on the trailer

I found this very interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing! One thing I'm curious about is: Do the chains on the trailer actually wind/wrap around a drum on the winch?

Hey mate nice video and good to see you back at it again. Any particular reason you guys don't use b doubles? I thought all of NQ used b doubles instead of these single trailers. Is it just mill or contractor preference?Also what kind of payload of cane do you get with these compared to b double cane trucks?

Great to have you back man..great video as always. How do you like that ISM? Did you at least get the 410HP model?

440hp model. Don't like the fact that they have load sensing power when needed shit

Good to see you back at it! Is that like an Australian T800 Kenworth?
@alwaysoffroad
@alwaysoffroad 8 жыл бұрын
No a lot smaller and lighter duty than a T-800. Our equivalent of the T-800 is a T-650 or T-658 as they are called now

I was wondering how you carted them because I took a roadtrain load of 4 of those bins from Julatten (near Mt Molloy near Mareeba) to Brisbane a couple of months ago. We put them inside each other, slightly oversize lol. Pic here: imgur.com/Lzf8gEi

Does sugar cane weigh up fairly heavy or is it a lighter crop? Greetings from Saskatchewan
@alwaysoffroad
@alwaysoffroad 8 жыл бұрын
It can be heavy or light depending on the moisture and sugar content. These bins hold around 26 ton
