That’s my old shop!! I built it, every tiny bit of it! Yes it has lots of plugs that was for all my machines and tools to get plugged in. Cool thing about it, about 80% of the materials was stuff I recycled off job sites I worked on. Glad it will put it to good use and not just sitting empty!

As someone who designed and built their tiny home, you NEED a closet and don't need a double vanity. I would put the kitchen across the back wall. Center the sink on the window. Ref to the right. Range on the left wall. I could easily sketch something out for you if you'd like. Additionally, you'll want to plan your water heater. Next, put a door on the storage shed outside and make the loft area easy access as storage. Finally, with the way the building is shaped, put small windows at the top area to let more light in. More light makes it feel bigger.
@tszampruch

I'd also consider trying to keep all plumbing in the same wall. You're right to put the intimate areas to the right, but you might want to still close off the bathroom to the bedroom.

I’ve never built anything like that, but yeah for a tiny home a bath tub and double vanity don’t really make sense. The whole point of tiny home living is minimalism, so you’d want as small a bathroom without getting rid of comfort

Layout suggestions...put the tub as close to the back wall as possible and put a small closet/wardrobe between tub and bed (a least a little privacy?), 1 vanity and larger toilet room, flip the entry room layout - kitchen on back wall gives WAY more space/options and living area up front. Good luck Matt!

Turn that building into your main security office. You have the plugs all set up for video camera servers that hold all the recorded datas, plugs for security monitors and it's located at the front of the property which is great because if you have security they know how's coming in and out. Would be a great place for checking in people using the range to keep things legit and you from getting lawsuits or whatnot.

I was thinking something similar! Two videos back he was asking what to do with a couple other buildings. I think an AirBnB type property that could be booked as part of the resort would be great. I have an immune system disorder, so it's not always practical for me to stay in a big hotel and have to go to restaurants to eat. A small, self-contained rental, with a kitchen, would make it possible for me to come and enjoy the resort. Also, people that have food allergies and such that need to make their own food. I just think it would provide an opportunity for more people to come to the resort if there are options that are ADA accessible and provide an option other than the restaurant.

Rule of thumb for wood utility pole bury depth is 10% of the overall length + 2'. A 30' pole would be 5', 15' pole is 3.5'. Ground compaction and material changes the bury depth but it's a good starting point
@PatrickKniesler
@PatrickKniesler 3 ай бұрын
Yup. An equation burned into my brain with ten years designing distribution. With almost non-existent compaction but also no perceived horizontal loads, i have absolutely no idea what depth to go for. Obviously he wouldn't want them to sag over time and wouldn't want to pour concrete. Maybe strap them to a brace and run auger anchors into the berm behind them to keep them upright if the berm settles a bit.

been in a few tiny homes, would definitely suggest putting a dividing wall between bedroom and bathroom. if you want to invite people over for a meal or movie, no guest wants to use an open bathroom, its uncomfortable. having that extra wall will make the bathroom feel better and more inviting. also i agree with others, don't need a double vanity, however if you put the bathroom wall in, you will make more usable space and will be able to fit one in.

A bullet leaving the property and hitting someone is a huge concern. 1 stray bullet could shut us down forever, Before you do all this work maybe you could come up here and see what we have done to prevent that from happening.

Just a friendly word of advice. Better bury more than 3 feet of pole in the ground, make it closer to 4'. Wind load on a wall with only 3' of post buried will allow the wind to push it over with time, even with the posts cemented in.

I would put in one of the old fashioned raised up showers, with bath plug in the floor, suitable to hold enough water to bath young children if needed. Otherwise it's just a comfortable shower that doesn't leak water on the floor 😊 Make sure the sofa is a bed sofa, or modular, so a couple with two smaller children have the option of coming with the kids. The hardest part to create in the tiny house are going to be the bathroom, mini-kitchen, due to plumbing, the rest is all framing. The AC/heating is easy, if you find a "mini-split", problem solved. And like I said before re:power, if you install solar outside then that takes care of the power since you're in texas. And instead of creating a ladder, create a stairscase so that you can create drawers under the stairs for storage. Hope it helps. :)

Switch the livingroom and the kitchen. Behind the entry door is currently dead space. That is the perfect place to put the TV. By moving the kitchen back to the current living area, you will gain a bunch of useable area for the kitchen. Instead of one corner (current) you will have all three walls available for counter, stove, cabinets and fridge. Finish off the outside storage area, open it up to the bath, and make it a large walk in shower. Take the tub area and put the vanity there. That would then open up the current double vanity area for a closet.

Three things, first, You might be able to lower the ceiling in the bedroom area to potential give the loft space more ceiling height. Second, close off the outdoor storage thing and either have it be a closet for the inside or a lockable closet for outside to store things like a lawnmower. Third, I would recommend some kind of metal awning for cars to protect them from the elements.

That's my only thought on it. Bedroom seems pretty good fit already, and the living room/kitchen area just needs some minor adjustments. Build an extension or two on the outside for furnace/water heater areas. Look into replacing set furniture with Murphy bed type hideaway furniture for as much as possible, allowing the space to be maximized

Use outdoor covered storage as entry to kitchen area. Do your bathroom plumbing on dirt floor side

Matt I built my own tiny home and can tell you that in my experience it's so much better than a large one simply because its easy to maintain, plus, people love em!👍

If you make it into a tiny home, Flip the rooms. Use the room that has the dirt floor for the bedroom/ bathroom. Enclose the door and make it a window. Reason, you don’t have the dig up the concrete for install of a toilet, bathtub and sinks. Then take the bump out and make it into the front door entrance, cut a hole in the wall that will go into the kitchen/living-room. Then you only have to dig out concrete for the sink in the kitchen. Plus the bump out could be used kind of like a porch for door.

If you do turn it into a tiny home you gotta keep that reclaimed wood look!

I vote for tiny house!!!!! What a great idea👍🏻 When I rearranged my 1000 sqft house I did this….. I used common interior wall that the plumbing can be run for bathroom and kitchen. It really made it easy. I designed it myself using only my common sense and being mindful of my very small budget. Maybe that little storage shed can be used as a WC. Just a thought🤔 Thanks for sharing your brilliant idea👍🏻🤩

I like it. If you do the open bath. Please put a tiled shower next to it in the corner with a nice glass enclosure. That’s very modern plus not everyone likes to only have the bathing option. Kitchen on the back wall seems more appropriate too. I know whatever you do will be amazing. Thank you for letting us be apart of it.

Continuing... Officers don't get to choose the weather when something bad happens. There are world class trainers that would come to you. You need a logistic person to schedule the events around the rest of us that want to come and enjoy the solitude of camping there. You can have both. I would make sure there are plenty of opportunities for those that support your channel now to come visit. Don't leave out the great people that have gotten you this far. BTW... I really wish you would have stayed with Demolition Ranch. I wish you the best of luck and I look forward to every video.

Most definitely put the kitchen at the back. That is not the first thing you want to see when walking in. It says “work” to those who do the cooking. You want to give them comfort first. No need for a double vanity in a tiny home. Keep it simple. Some kind of closet, (maybe cut a door into the area that protrudes the front, making a closet. The kids loft is a good idea, and it could also be for two couples, one downstairs the other upstairs. I would open it up more, so you can see downstairs, and not get the cramped feeling. But hey, cool idea!

I think that would be a good ranch hand house and workshop. Have half the shed for wood working and the other half for welding. Your going to need a lot of gates and things made for the rest of time.

please let us know when someone will be teaching an anti-acorn defense class at the range. those things are terrifying and hard to fight off once they come for you. you should give the range a name, maybe Acorn Range would be a good one, forever reminding us of the dangers the world holds...

An idea for that small lot area in the Tiny house! What IF you install one of those large library bookshelf ladders, that way you can just slide over when you want to walk up and slide back over to be out of the way. Now for the loft area, have that be a large sunroof so it is almost a private “look at the stars” area for couples. 😊

Matt you need a closet or an Armoire for people to hang their clothes up . Also need storage area for towels , sheets, wash cloths , cleaning supplies , etc. Just think about what you like to have in a room or AirBnB when you go spending time away from home.

Try to enclose that funny small addition on the outside and connect it with a (pocket) door to the bathroom area, then set the toilet into that small separate addition thingy. Oh and loose the bathtub in favor of a walk-in shower unit plus reduce the double vanity to a single sink unit to save space and maybe place a washer-dryer stack unit there.

Matt I think the little building should be moved down to the river. Set north on end of the driveway near bank of river. Could hold kayaks & tire tubes used on river? Airbnb is not realistic at this time. Need an attraction for the cost affective than what u got so far. Camping down to river is cost affective. Draw some waterline and trim entrances. U have the clientele for who likes to rough it! Fish, gun range, swim and canoe/ kayak have fun!

You should put in some clerestory windows. They're great for natural diffused lighting and if you make the roof the right length over it you can stop the hot summer sun from getting in; if they open, you can get some of the heat out through natural ventilation. While in the winter you can catch the sun onto the ceiling to heat the sheetrock to let it radiate heat over the night.

cut a door into the outside shed maybe extend it and make a shower tub in 1 with a toilet in it, make the kitchen sink the only sink so make it a double wide sink, make another mini shed outside connected to the house with a stacked laundry and dryer, put solar panels on top , put a ladder and ledge with a safety rail on the 2nd floor

Do a kitchen/bathroom split on one side so water routing is easier. Livingroom on the entry side, with a murphy bed on the wall. Open up the "attic" into a sleeping loft with the king bed.....you can drop that ceiling a good 2 feet.
