Demonic Brigitte, a custom design by Zach Fisher, is a mashup between Overwatch and Diablo and my largest project to date. I started it in August 2019 and now in April 2020 I'mm still not done! However I thought I'm sharing part one of the making of video with you finally. The costume is mostly made out of EVA foam from www.cosplayshop.be, foam clay from www.luminsworkshop.com and electronics from www.adafruit.com. Please check out my product links for all other products and tools I've used for this project! Part two of the making-of will follow very soon! 🙂

I just wanted to say I really enjoyed your voiceover/commentary here and it was nice to see more steps slowed down than the usual "I cut out the pattern, traced it onto foam, glued and shaped it." It's helpful to see how you figure out an area for a longer amount of time. Also can I just say I enjoyed the fact the video was 31 minutes long? :D I guess I have a longer attention span than most people because I could watch a cosplay be built for hours.

Same for me, I love to see some of the detailed work to be able to make something from start to finish. And also I know that everything is not simple, but you make a monstrosity of a build look like it is doable which is really motivating.

Thanks for capturing and showing moments when you got to remake any parts. I always feel afraid of experimenting and spoiling the material, so that prevents me from doing some extra steps on improving in foam smithing. These frames help me to understand, that even the best crafters experience moments of frustration and redo the things. Thank you :)

Wow!

Really awesome, and inspiring! I actually really like these longer videos and I saw a lot of cool things to help me with my current cosplay that I’m working on, thanks for all you do!

I really enjoyed this longer video...it definitely gave a more detailed look into the sheer size of this project. Knowing more about this super long process helps me feel better about taking a long time on a project to make it just right. Love your videos!

The last 3 minutes in 1080p were so amazing, I could appreciate all the detail, really love the final result you two archieved in all the textures ment to look like bones, looks so realistic. About that, had you previously tried using powdered colored chalks instead of oil paint for the "washing" step to make a non-shiny weathering?

@@KamuiCosplay KamuiCosplay One of my profs has been doing scale modeling since he was a kid, when I asked him about making a prop that looks like a bone and said something about the weathering with acrylics or oil paint he said that he avoids both because acrylic and specially oil paints in particular make the dirty , worn out or rusted parts look shiny and thus more artificial, so he instead uses black or sometimes dark brown chalks to archieve a realistic look. Hope the info is useful, I've done it myself and the look is very convincing. (while I said powdered, sometimes is better to stroke directly with the chalk and then difuminating it for the darkest parts)
