I'm Calling The Police, CAUSE YOU TALKED OVER ME, ORCHARD PARK LIBRARY 1ST Amendment Audit

This is a First Amendment Audit of the town of Orchard Park Public Library. The audit was going well though most of the Library. Until AEC got to the kids section. AEC is not ever trying to film children. Yet one of the Librarians got triggered by the camera and AEC not asking for our Constitutional Rights. Librarian no name and we call her no name because this Public Servant refused to give a name even know she works for us. She used the excuse of "kids" to try to stop the camera. She tried to Violate the Erie County Fam's Rights by stopping the camera and asking the Erie County Fam to leave public property without a crime or disturbance. Then the Library Director Peggy Errington adds to the violating of the Erie County Fam's Rights by trying to stop the camera, putting Her hands on the camera. Then calls the Orchard Park Police on AEC for "Speaking Over Her". The Orchard Park police came and talked with the director and were pretty friendly to the Erie County Fam. The police did respect the right to film in public spaces such as the Library.

Honestly, U.S.P.S. employees aside, library directors and librarians are some of the biggest snowflakes to be found. Libraries are not their own countries with their own laws regarding privacy. There is no privacy in public! Libraries are not a privacy sanctuary. Children included. There are no laws prohibiting the recording of children, although it is good manners to generally refrain from recording them needlessly. AEC did not violate anybodies rights or a perceived right to privacy. It is a PUBLIC library.

As a father myself, I'd feel as though the guy slamming chairs and clipboards would be a bigger danger to my child than the guy recording and he would be the reason we wouldn't return to the library. My two cents: These Librarian's are fire starters. They do not understand their own rights, let alone the rights of others. They don't even understand that Library Constitution they have on their wall. They are trying to enforce feelings. I'm one step away from becoming a 1A Auditor myself. I live in Indiana. Right at 37:23 when she handed you the paper in front of the police, you should've asked the police to explain to her that you were well with in your rights and you were not breaking the law. Clearly you are making a difference in your community because obviously the police knew who you were and what you were doing, and if you were in violation of the law you would have been arrested. Poor director she really needs some professional help. I feel bad for her being so paranoid and fearful like that. I hope she can grow from this experience as well as the first lady. It really is uncomfortable to watch these people sometimes acting so bad on camera. I really do genuinely hope these people watch and learn. These auditing videos are more then that imo it exposes such bad and paranoid behavior of so many people and is a great teaching of behavior for everyone. Thanks AEC! :)

At 2317 I love the way she says I don't ever want my child filmed in the private realm but when her child is in the library that child is being filled and from the minute she walks out of her house in the morning until she goes home she is probably on 50 to 100 cameras but she does not say anything about that she only cares about your camera. This business with accusing auditors of exploiting children is becoming common, and it's absurd. Children are just being used as a convenient intimidation tactic. When an auditor is unwelcome, claims are often made for the supposed special rights of children in public, and, unfortunately, that can be effective in obstructing the auditor's protected activity. I thank you, AEC, for resisting the nonsense you encountered in the Orchard Park Public Library. Thank you also for inserting the comic relief of everyone's favorite EX-librarian, Chadeo! :D

That word “Public” in Public Library is a big clue to whether or not it is “public” property. Public is the opposite of private. If you are in public you have no right to privacy.

I have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. I would feel perfectly comfortable with someone walking around filming. Let me see, it happens at their basketball games, football games, field trips, karate, baseball games, birthday parties, Disneyland. I call bullcrap and I never want to hear that LAME excuse to attempt to constrain or chill any part of our Bill of Rights. I’d turn into a Chad and lose it on these ladies if I was there with my kids. JS

Freedom of Privacy? That’s a new one. I hope these two ladies don’t ever go to the beach or to a public park, where there are lots of children running around and playing. A limited public forum means when the library is being used by the public for a purpose other than the normal purpose of a library, such as a yoga class. So then, they can restrict you from recording that yoga class.

Getting upset because someone was expressing their own differing opinion? I say with near certainty that there have probably been countless children in that library with excitement and a thirst for learning that were destroyed by this librarian who belittled the children with the same condescending attitude that she displayed to an adult. If she was wrong in this instance - which she certainly was - how many times do you think a child was reprimanded by her for being “wrong” when the child was actually correct? Libraries are a place to learn and yet she is going to great lengths to promote false narratives. She needs remedial training.

Glad those police officers knew exactly what was happening. And they were very professional in handling the situation. Hope to see you out in Akron someday. Nearly every municipal employee in America now believes they are above it all, accountable to no one, and can treat the citizens that fund their livelihoods with contempt and disrespect. Who died and made them Gods? You are a salaried employee of the public, to “serve” the public. The public library does not belong to you. It is not your property, you do not get to decide (based on emotion) who is allowed there, and you have zero expectation of privacy. Grow up for Pete’s sake. In the private sector people are required to approach their jobs as a professional. Not as a mealy mouth little tyrant.
