I lived in the usa Colorado Springs Colorado CO for six years. I returned in 2018 back home to RSA because my family and I missed the food and the organic authentic spices. Nothing like Southern African cuisine ❤🎉😂😂😂😂😂

This is the Cape Malay koesister and then you have the normal koeksister baked in hot oil until a little bit crispy before it's dipped in cold home-made syrup.

Koeksisters came from Indonenesia/Malaysia into Cape Town Via Cape Malays many years ago. The spices used and the naartjie peel are from the archipelago.

I'm south African and I don't think that's a koeksister.... They usually are twisted, glazed and not topped with coconut. That looks like a snowball... Idk I may be wrong. It's seems like y'all r in cape town tho and I'm in KZN so maybe u guys use a different term. I'm glad you enjoyed our south African food 🇿🇦

Why is it a problem? SA blacks enjoy and want to be in black spaces. We work and go to school with other races but we prefer our spaces
