I quit buying Lionel NASCAR diecast as a whole really. Not cause of the whole PTC mold thing. But cause my local stores just don't wanna order new stock. I blame that Walmart exclusive Daytona 500 wave in 2019. It pegwarmed for eternity it seemed. Then my local Walmart just refused to order new stuff. Then finally found something new in 2021 wave 13. Going 2.5 years with my local Walmart refusing to order new stock, it took me out of collecting. But Ebay brought me back in with all the old stuff I've found. I did find 2022 wave 3 and 1 of the Walmart test wave cars. But I just don't hunt anymore.

This is why Im very selective when buying NASCAR diecast nowadays...Lionel doesn't give a crap on what they put out. It's sad because Ive collected for about 22 years now and seen and collected during the best of times but now my interest has dwindled. I really want Autoworld to step in. The quality for the NHRA cars is spot on.

I guess the issue is most people that buy these are collectors and collectors notice EVERY detail. I personally wouldn't notice but I wouldn't pay $6 for a car either. Looks like they misjudged their audience for a quick buck but it is going to hurt their long term buck and credibility!

I like nascar for the cars, im that guy who likes to watch more of the testing of the cars, watching the tech on them, and sometimes tune when they race the circuits, i get a little bored when they are racing on the normal oval track they are mainly racing, once these next gen cars hit, i got into collecting them pretty full force, i only ever got like the classic models lionel would release, like the 80s and 70s cars that are kind of rare that they did in the past. Most of my next gen 1/64 cars come good, but a few of them came with wheels not set right so they dont roll good and the wheels hang up on the fenders, so i really have to look at them in the packaging before i purchase, because i open most of them, and some of the tampos have been getting messy on some.

Just seeing this now. Words can't describe how pathetic this wave is. The quality control from Lionel is abysmal. And then they have the NERVE to tweet, "Boys and girls. Please. The mold is new for the Next Gen from the one you didn’t like on the previous generation car. These cars look different from the previous cars, right? Let’s pump the brakes and enjoy this much-anticipated wave." Are you serious? This is the same company that didn't have Next-Gen cars out until July. It's November now and we're only on Wave 4. I think I'm done with Authentics for the foreseeable future as well.

ptc are the best guys what are you talking about there so good looking I smashed them together to add some final touches to the cars them self. the original schemes didn't look good, so I made it look better. the do have gray spots and chipped paint i think it looks better

I Know These NASCAR Authentics Have Some Of The Lowest Quality Since 2014, But I'm Still Buying These If I Find Them. I Am In Serious Need Of 2022 Diecasts As I Never Even Saw Any Wave 3 Diecasts. I Also Race These Diecasts, And Obviously They Will Get Chipped Over Time, So The Quality Of These May Blend In. I Also Rarely Buy Online Because I Feel The Prices Are Too High, Especially For Someone Whose Diecasts Go Through Heavy Usage. I Really Hope Lionel Does Not Cheap Out With Any More Waves Like This, As These Next Gen PTC Molds Simply Look Cheap. This Is Only My Opinion, And I'm Not Defending Lionel In Any Way, Because I Really Hope That They Use The EL Mold Again, As I Prefer It To The PTC Mold Almost Every Time Like Everyone Else, And I Know About How These Have Very Low Decal Quality, But I Will Still Buy These If I Find Them Despite The Horrendous Decals.

I think it'll be great if Nascar strips Lionel of the Authentics license and gives it to Auto World. I have some NHRA diecasts from Auto World that are top grade quality.

The Cindric gold, Keselowski, Custer, and Harvick cars look alright in my opinion. The Chase Elliott and Kyle Busch ones look terrible. The Truex one looks mediocre. I’m still probably going to collect them probably. I’m a rookie when it comes to collecting them

Authentics are just a low qual easier to collect Gold Series man. And now it's not even worth it. Now, I wouldn't care to go to Walmart. Amazon or CircleB all the way. They work harder on the Gold Series.

You make very good points. But there is a 5 dollar difference between the authentic and the rcca gold. You primarily getting the same car exception to the packaging. My issue is The Harvick cars that the primary sponsor Busch Lite the logo is missing.. I can understand with the retail authentic but when your paying 5 dollars more for an rcca gold the Busch Lite logo should be on the car. They take the Busch Lite sponsor off so they don't have to put the car on a stand. Understandably there doing it in case a parent is buying this car for a child but I cannot fathom a 5 dollar price hike. Rcca needs to lower the price of the rcca version of Harvicks car if they don't want to put the beer logo on it
