This was a hard one to watch. 35 years of soul crushing will need more than a makeover to heal, but what a kind and nourishing start you and your team gave to her.

For some it can be the start of a person's healing journey... For some it could be the experience they give themselves after they feel they have healed... AND for some... it's in the middle. Please have her watch Dr Ramani’s KZfaq videos and maybe do her healing program (for victims of trauma and narcissistic abuse). This transformation clearly sets her on her way! Beautiful

@@patriciafry8634 Yes, that is a great resource. Lisa A Romano is also another great teacher of how to heal from Narcissistic Abuse. And she NEEDS ongoing psychological support & healing. Her psychological abuse STARTED in childhood, which then led her to the beliefs that then attracted that sort of man into her life. I pray she heals & learns the "red flags" of the type of person, (Narcissist/Abuser) & NEVER allows Anyone, friend or lover, like that, in her sacred space. I pray her children get help too, because there's no way that they were not affected by growing up in that type of home! It's just so sad, that so often, the sweet, kindest, & most loving people wind up attracting & being abused by a Psychopath.

I was also in verbally and mentally abusive relationship. I’m so proud of her and for her. It’s not easy to walk away when you have kids. But now as an adult, it’s her life. Thank you for helping her see the beauty and self worth she has. Great job!!!!

Being open, honest, and vulnerable in general is hard to do... but opens many doors for oneself. To do such a thing in front of the world...... that right there is a whole different game. I ,also was in this situation,for 15 years. My self esteem was so beaten down, I couldn't stand up 4 myself or leave. When my grandfather died(who I was very close to)it was like a slap in the face,telling me I no longer had 2 take this abuse & my daughter deserved a better home life. I was on way 2 becoming a new me.

I was too. It took every bit of courage too flee. Took my baby & the clothes on our backs, nevermore to return. That was in 1981 and I thank God every day that my son & I survived. She is an inspiration. Thanks for highlighting her story. 🙏🏼❤️‍🔥✌🏽

I absolutely identify with so much of this story. I have a similar story if emotional abuse in my first marriage and not knowing support because the church didn’t understand the impact or dynamics of emotional and/or verbal abuse. I am 73 and only in the last 5 years have I come into the fullness of emotional and spiritual health which translates into true beauty! Thank you for contributing to this woman’s journey.

This breaks my heart and heartens me at the same time. She is so genuinely honest and wise about what she's been through. This is a testament to the trauma, scars and illness that we experience with verbal abuse, just words. Words will never hurt me? Think again. That said, she looked completely rejuvenated with that makeover. How is she could have ever thought that she was average or plane or ugly is beyond my comprehension. All I can say to her is: With everything you've been through, I hope with all my heart that now you will find peace and love.

I really relate to this woman. I was abused verbally and physically by my father. Horrendous abuse. I had zero value. I did not marry because my view of relationships was not positive. I spent years in therapy. It saved my life ( literally). Thank you for this!

Karla, I hope you see this. I am so proud and happy for you! Our Creator doesn’t want us beaten down and broken; He wants us to experience true joy and peace. No person has the right to stifle your spirit or to oppress you. You have made some really big steps to reach your full potential, and that’s so inspiring! You remind me so much of my late aunt, who was also a beautiful person, but unlike you, she never took the chance to live her real life; she was just too afraid. Honestly, I think this was one of the most compelling makeovers you’ve done Christopher! You got into her soul, allowed her to bloodlet, and then you took that solid foundation, and created a new pyramid to life! Omg. This poor woman.. the emotional abuse was horrible . Her transformation began with her strength to walk away and you finished it with her beautiful make over! Poor thing. I can't imagine what she has had to withstand and overcome. I hope she realizes that took strength - she is strong. Sharing her experience and the message to other women that they don't have to put up with toxicity and abuse is brave and inspirational. Yes, she ha$ already left her abusive husband, however, her spirit was literally on its last gasp until you stepped in. It's wonderful that you and your Mother and staff do this for women, I was a child victim of verbal and physical abuse, now a stong sensitive women.Thank godness there were loving teachers and adults that could see what was happening to me and contacted childrens services and my Grandmother to get me safe,but inside all women are little girls who still carry some of that forever,thank you for offering the help and guidance you give,thank you,I always love watching your videos.Ohio

Yes, I feel conflicted about that a lot. I mean, when I was young the outside and the inside reflected each other. Now at 54 years old I don't look like who I feel I am. It just doesn't match. I try makeup and it makes me look a little better, but I feel like an imposter. Same with coloring my hair. Men don't seem to have those issues as much. I don't know why. I don't know that society tells people that men don't need it but women do. I don't knew about that. It seems pretty universal. It maybe it's not. I don't know. What should be does not match what *is* and I don't knew how to reconcile that. It's easy to say the way it should be, but it's harder to live it. It effects how people see you, treat you, and how likely you are to be loved and desired in a relationship. That's the brutal reality of it.

That realization that you really can leave the cap off the toothpaste or wait to vacuum till midnight or finally cook those lima beans that someone didn't like even the smell of but you love takes a while to settle into your brain and she will take that freedom and bite anybody's hand off who even hints at taking it away. In my "first life", a fun thing to do was to pull me in front of the mirror and ask "Let's just look; what would I love about you?". After the 30 years since, oh how I wish I could spend 10 minutes in a locked unprosecutable room with him. You all offer women that feeling of burdens lifted and you're gracious as you do it. Such shame she was so beaten down by the people who were supposed to support her. She has a beautiful face even without makeup. Her bone structure is great! High cheekbones, straight nose, etc. I can’t wait to see the final outcome.

Bless her beautiful heart 🥹 It took true courage to reveal her story. To walk away from her marriage took incredible strength and was probably the hardest thing she’ll ever do. The hardest episode in her life is over and now it’s time for her to live in freedom. She’s a lioness and woe betide anyone who now stands in her way. Her abuser is actually the insecure one, the coward who needed to stand on others to elevate himself. He will probably still attempt to belittle her with his remarks which she should dismiss with one word then just walk away and wave and smile. From now on the only way is up 🤩🥰

I think, no, I know this was my favorite of the makeovers. I think because her original story, meets the hidden messages so many of us, especially those growing up in conservative homes, feel. "Who am I not to shine?" I keep thinking about that statement, so much while watching this. Beautiful transformation. Her whole being just seemed lifted from the ashes.

Lynnea Luebben, when you say she was lifted from the ashes, it reminds me of the scriptures that tell us God can make beauty from our ashes! 💜🌸⭐This poor dear soul, as so often happens when a church misinterprets scripture, and quite frankly allowed the Adversary to rule them (both often unknowingly), got to be one of the victims. It hurts my heart for her...and it hurts my heart that it happens too often. Granted, that type of abuse isn't just in churches or other places of worship--but too often in society--as many of us have experienced. (Look throughout history.) Then the truly good men get overlooked. Those same good men don't always realize what power they have to change the world--for us. Thank goodness Christopher does that every time he posts a video, or writes a book. God bless him and his team. 🙏💜🙏

YES! 😍 oh my, thank you for this. WE all have battles that condition us to believe we shouldn't shine. It is when we can take a step back from that conditioning. THAT... that right there is when we can start to see the clouds in front of the sun that we all know we are. The only person that stops us from shining is truly ourselves.... it's a hard yet beautiful revelation. LET US ALL SHINE! WHO IS STOPPING US?! RADIATE!

Her story gives a bad image to conservative. Those people in her community sound like "Misery loves company." Hey folks, rethink. Enabling emotional abuse does not do men any favors. Do you think this guy really benefited from having a wife who didn't like him...who could barely tolerate their marriage? This episode helps me really understand the mission of Makeover Guy. Uplifting.

Any church that does not support both the husband AND the wife needs to be corrected! This is not what a real church is supposed to be doing. I'm SO glad she got out of her abusive marriage and is starting to live a life she enjoys, because she deserves that.

what I love most about all these makeover ( besides how beautiful they all look) is how unanimously the self confidence and self worth they knew they had all along comes to shrine through the help of these makeovers! Heartfelt emotions and transformations by the ladies... bravo!
