As big as this set is, you wouldn't think you'd hit so many triples or quadruples out of all these hits out of 100 packs. has to be painful for ya Rev. This set is way to big for my wallet to complete...lol Thanks for the content Rev.

Hi, math major and Pokémon fan here; Paldean fates is by FAR one of the worst sets to try and complete, with the average number of boosters needed of 2588 (Paradox rift is slightly worse at 2713, but is easier to obtain, so comme ci comme ça). With your progress, 100 packs and only a single new card is slightly unlucky, but by no means out of the ordinary. Those last two Special Illustration Rares would be expected to take about 900 more boosters to get them. Granted, there's a 50% chance you can get them in around 750 more, but because the upper end is so bad (the 95% likelihood is 2050 more packs) that's what drags the total up. The standard shinies are even worse, needing on average 1750 more to grab those last twenty-two shinies, and to be 95% certain needing 2900 more packs. Heck, even the single Foretress needed would take around 235 more packs to get that specific card. So the real strategy if you want a full set is to get a good base, and then trade for the last couple dozen, because trying to pull them is not going to end well for your mental health or your wallet.

The batching is exactly why I buy a few booster bundles of this set from multiple stores so I get a better mix of cards. Seems to be working cuz I've only doubled up on my shines only a couple times

Two hundred packs and I never even pulled a single SIR. So I stopped, and bought the singles I wanted, and have moved on. I don't know if I've even hated a set more than this one. The multiples of every "rare" card except for the ones I actually wanted was infuriating.

I've got 2 SIR Charizards...opened about 20 packs....one from a tin and the other from a sticker pack...that's my luck used up for the next decade.

It would be interesting to see you source 100 packs from a variety. ETB's, blisters, tins, bundles. Just get a true mix going and see what the shiny counts and arts look like.

I haven’t gotten the trainer special illustrations. NONE. I pulled the main three and I think that’s the only bit of luck with this set that I’ll get! Heck, and I have some cards you’re missing. I’d help out if I could 😔

I think I got lucky to get SIR Charizard and SIR Mew out of my 1st 23 packs of P Fates (a random S Great Tusk Tin [Mew] and 2 ETBs [Charizard]). You'll find Charizard eventually, though. Keep looking.

I think you should do a google sheet and invite subscribers to come and fill out the form for very card you need then sent it to you for the amount of money. Just like what Pat did when he was doing the sun and moon team up set.

I have a theory, I think there is still corruption in the factories. After the fusion strike fiasco you think they would have investigated other factories 🏭? Pokémon company won’t waste time and money on that! The theory is the thieves now are being smarter they are packing the first prints with good cards and after the second print they start packing the mediocre rares. The sorter only needs to confirm that there is a top rate of each kind of rare meaning the thieves can pack repeats of the same rare in each tier except for the cream of the crop like the charizards! Just my theory. That’s why after first prints, getting the most desirable card is impossible!

Either that or Pokemon themselves, don’t care as long as they are making money 💰 and ripping you off! Spend over 1000s of dollars on cards for over a thousand packs and still don’t get a special illustration charizard proves my theory somewhat correct 😅

This set is insane, I’ve gotten so many shinies and the bubble mew got pulled on my 3rd pack but nothing amazing since. Will probably buy a pack every once and awhile until I hit the Zard or gardevoir

I’ll probably be opening this set until gen 11 or until it becomes $20 a pack. I absolutely love Paldean Fates. My only complaint is only 3 IRs in the set.

I’ve been buying a tons of singles from whatnot. Buying what you need for 1-3 dollars is cheaper than buying packs. Great way to finish sets I only need 15 baby shinies to master set

Looking at batching in US. Would say to try and buy from Canada, UK, Europe and Australia. Maybe you will have better luck. As it looks kinda like the fusion strike where someone stole so many rare cards.

I pulled about 3-4 penny secret arts and still havent pulled arven or clive once. Ive pulled mew twice and yet no arven or clive. Dont get me started on the gold cards......

I need 3 baby shiny to complete my master set. I opened around 500 packs and only needed 23 baby shiny and the SIR Clive & Iono. I traded my my doubles for everything I was missing and I have 3 baby shiny left to trade for to complete the set

We have opend a few bundle boxes and every box had a SAR same with mini tin box. They seem guaranteed per box. Might just wanna open a bundle case and u will have it for sure.

I don’t understand how you effortlessly open packs. I have to either pull it apart from the back flaps or claw at the top and try to get my nails in between the cracks. I can’t just pop it open like that
