My mini hit me up against a hay rack a few weeks ago and then kicked me twice, all over a crack of thunder. Bruised the inside of my mouth couldn’t chew for days. So they might be little but they can whoop your butt. Just be careful around any animal and don’t show fear Almost every animal can sense fear. Good luck LE you got this

LE for the bigs just put the feed in the Argo (I think that's what the 6 wheel thing is called) front seat with you. Stop a second and poor some feed go further stop and pour stop and pour all the way down the line. You never have to get out while feeding then if you are staying ahead of them. They are so busy eating they won't bother you at all when you do the water. Always remember to shut the gates esp. the main gate going in and out of Long Horn Lesters.

LE. I worked at a jail. Trust me when I say the little ones, (think petty crimes) are the most dangerous - they have more to prove. The big ones, (the ones in for murder, etc) don’t have anything to prove, so they’re easier to deal with. Keep that in mind with the goats and longhorns. They don’t want to attack you, they just want to eat. The goats get excited and will try to show out faster, thereby causing you more risk of injury. I get it. Bigs make me nervous too, but the likelihood of them intentionally hurting you is slim to none. Think out the best play for putting out the grains and move quickly. I’m sure you did fine. ❤

LE, I don’t blame you for being cautious. I’d want to hug the bigs and run for my life at the same time. I imagine you close they are very intimidating. My mind knows that they are huge but never being up close to one, I bet the seem twice as big in person. That was crazy when your dad was holding Carl while you felt that lump or whatever it was. I was disappointed when your dad took it off and threw it out in the yard. I wanted to see a close up of it and I thought maybe the vet could analyze it or send it for a biopsy to figure out what caused if. Thank goodness nothing seemed to be growing internally, which I know what everyone thought since he was eating well. It looked like more than half of it came off and did so easily. He really didn’t seem bothered once he was let go. I expected a hissy fit,literally. Hope all is going well at LHL’s. Hi to Megan ( my apologies if I spelled her name wrong) hope classes are going well for her. I know she wasn’t too excited about them starting up again.

I almost got kicked in the face too, LE. When I was 11 yrs old my aunt's horse escaped from her corral and was bucking and being naughty cause she could run like a crazy person all over the farm. I was just standing there when she blazed past me kicking and being a fool. Her hoof came about 10 inches from my face. I was so stunned I didn't even realize what had just happened, my aunt yelled for me to go in the house. But, I love horses and worked with them and love riding. Don't ever let that one incident make you fear them for life. Crazy things can happen, but I also believe God will protect you through it.

LE, I feel like you shouldn't let the bigs know that you're scared of them. I believe animals react to the way you react to them and they probably feed off the energy you put out. If you're nervous, you might make them nervous. Just try to stay calm. Stay alert and focused and you're not going to get hurt. Like Lester said. They don't want to hurt you, they just want the food.
