He is BEAUTIFUL!!! My heart, it melts! 😭😭😭 Bulldogs are a great breed. So snugggglyyyy. Though I do support breeding efforts to return their faces to a more historic profile. Just a little less smooshed to avoid potential issues. But I’m glad yours have all been fine! I don’t know if this will work for you, as well, but my sister and I inadvertently discovered a very useful trick for dogs: choose a lullaby type piece of music or song and play it for your puppy as he goes to sleep at night. We did this initially as a way to signal, “Hey, it’s time to wind down and go to sleep!” But the crazy thing is, it taught our dogs that that music = everything is calm and safe. My puppy is two now, and he is really anxious about storms. You know what calms him immediately? What works better than any homeopathic or prescription med? Playing that music. He hears that music and he calms down immediately. Anyway, no idea if it would work for your pup, but it’s such an easy thing to do with the potential of huge benefits down the road! ❤

❤ congrats on the puppy! I carried mine out every single time he ate, played, or did anything, to go potty. Puppies need 18 hours of sleep every day so I crated mine. He has a bed time even to this day. His crate is only for sleeping. Now that he is a year old he will ring a bell on the front door to go out. Consistency is key!!! He is a beautiful puppy 💖

As neither of my kids have children of their own either, I do cherish the grandkids I do have from my husband's children all the more. But it does make the animal babies that my daughter has in a class of their own. It is hard to explain, but our need to bond and love and care for others is undeniable. Winston is so precious and that little one on his back in the carrier presenting himself to you in that way was amazing to watch and I am glad it was filmed for others to experience as well. There is something unique in the unconditional love and loss of a grandparent as well and I know this fur baby will help not just comfort you but help flood memories of your grandpa to you as well. Time to pay special attention to securing your boundaries around your property as well. Little ones inside and passing cars as well as your own vehicles coming and going do create real hazards that you need to think about as well. Congratulations and enjoy the new experiences to come!

Door bells so he can tell you when he needs to go outside. They are fabulous. No accidents. Took 2 days to get the dog to do it. Just ring the bell and say, let’s go potty and open the door. He will do it on his own after a few times. Good luck!

I think one of the most important things to do is train your puppy. Also, don't allow behaviors as a puppy that you wouldn't like your adult dog to have. So, don't let your puppy use you as a chew toy because you don't want your adult dog biting you. And please, lots of Winston in your videos. He is adorable. ❤

Awww he is so stinkin cute! He has blue merle markings, and those beautiful blue eyes. I had a maltipoo that was a blue merle...sweetest lil thing ever. She was a puppy mill rescue, and she had been used for breading. She was pitiful when I got her, all she had ever known was pain and hunger. It took me almost two years to get her to sit in my lap and face me. I had her fore 6 years, and it nearly did me in when she died...but I know I gave her an amazing life full of good food, great toys, and so, so much love. There will never be another Harper.

Highly recommend trying to take him out to potty every 2-3 hours instead of using pee pads in the house. It will be such a natural transition to him asking to go out by himself and prevent accidents a lot more quickly than if you use pee pads. I love bulldogs so much and have had them in my family since I was little too, so I am so excited you have a new bully addition to your household! Winston is absolutely adorable!!! Congrats on becoming a dog dad Drew! What I've found SUPER with puppies is getting them into positive reward training classes (try going to a dog trainer or dog training specific place instead of a Pet Store - TOO many distractions in the pet stores for pups to properly learn!). There's one command in-particular - "go to mat" - which is essentially training them to go to a mat and chill. GREAT for when guests come over or especially when out eating. Our pup would just go to the nearest rectangular thing and just chill. SO NICE! Also, socialization when they're young is key! Expose them (after getting their shots of course) to other puppies, kids, old folks, canes, wheelchairs, noises... so they get used to things. My dog had a freakout once when he came upon a bag with a big Mickey Mouse face on it. He would NOT go near it until I convinced him that it actually WAS NOT something to fear. 😂🐶 Enjoy the journey!

I so understand how you use the title 'Dad'. Last year on 7th November my cat Tabatha passed away peacefully she was 19 1/2 years of age. I was not just her human but her best friend and her mum. It took some time for me to be ready to have another kitty, but on the 30th December I become a mum again to a little boy kitten named Bentley. He is so adorable and has a very rare medical condition, one blue eye and one green, it is called heterachromia....it just makes him more special. Our pet are just like humans, they require a lot of care just like a child....so from one fur parent to another, congratulations and welcome to your new family Winston.

Aww.....Winston is adorable! The first thing you should do if you haven't already is get your baby 'Chipped' at the Vet. If God forbid someone would accidently let him out you would more than likely never get him back. After I retired from Corporate America I had a dog walking business in Dallas for 8 years and I can't tell you how many times this happened to one of my Clients over the years. Either the pool guy the yard guy one of their kids, etc. not paying attention. Winston is your baby boy who just happens to have 2 extra legs. I'm SO happy for you! You'll be a GREAT Daddy and Winston is one lucky little guy!
