Reminds me of when I tried to avoid the fact I was in love with my best friend. I tried to hide it, but everytime he gave me that amazing smile I fell for him even more, I was so terrified of rejection I never said anything. I see a lot of people sharing there stories, so heres mine: At school, I had a crush on a guy that was exactly my type. We didn't chat much and only talked a few times but I still somehow fell for him. One day, a friend of his, found out. They offered to help me get closer to my crush and be a bridge, I didn't get why at first but I accepted their help. (Were going to call this friend of his, "Carlo") Carlo and I got close and started talking and even gave each other small candies some times, even when just passing by we would high five each other without talking all day. As days went by I forgot my feelings about my 'crush' and fell for Carl, I didn't tell anybody because I was afraid they'd tell him and he'd stop talking to me. Ever since I fell for him, I started talking less to him. I would oftem just make eye contact from a far but never actually went up to talk to him, I'd only chat him for help with my assignments. I'd often overthink about what he thought of my sudden changes and change of attitude. When the school year was ending, I heard from a friend, Carlo's classmate, that he was moving schools since our school was too expensive for them to afford, I was absolutely devastated of not seeing him again so I decided to take action. I made him a poem and got somebody to send it to him for me, anonymously. Eventually I came clean and explained I was late to confess because I was overthinking of the possibility that he might end our friendship, he reassured me and told me that it wouldn't change at all. He rejected me but appreciated the fact I actually had feelings for him, I told him how I felt, how I loved his smile.. the way his eyes sparkled when he was happy, everything about him was just true happiness. He wasn't my type but I really loved him. BUT, Carlo explained that at first he actually had a crush on me but I had a crush on his friend so he backed off and just supported me. I felt absolutely broken because it felt like I was being punished. The fact when I was chasing somebody else, he was chasing me. But when I turned around to chase him, he was chasing somebody else. We talked it out and actually laughed about the whole situation, it gave me relief. We're still talking to this day and even played chess a few days after everything, it was hurting a little but it made me feel good and reassured that our friendship wouldn't break. 'Carlo' if u somehow find this, I haven't uncrush you, I don't think I ever will. I just gave up. If I could turn back time to when you still had a crush on me I'd shoot my shot.
