Hey guys,
So this is something I’ve deliberated for a long, long time, but I figured as we approach the end of 2022, it’s an opportunity for change with the new year, and so it’s time to do what I feel I need to do for myself and move on from Chapman Guitars as a signature artist.
It’s been an amazing 10 years, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the love and support I’ve received from Rob, Lee and everyone at Chapman Guitars over the time I’ve been with them.
They gave me a signature model guitar when I was literally just starting out, and it was such a nice, cool and kind gesture, opportunity and platform for me to grow as an artist, and as a product designer.
It was Something Rob and Lee really didn’t need to do, and I assume was potentially a risk at the time! But they wanted to because they’re friends and wanted to help me grow, and that is something I’ll be eternally grateful for.
Rob, Lee and myself have been good friends for a long time, and I’m grateful for all the good times we’ve had together at Chapman. Just to be crystal clear it’s all good for those wondering! We are still friends and there are no bad vibes between us at all. Just love and support!
There are still some of my guitar models left and available from various retails and online, but after they’re gone, they’re gone. I have mine and I’ll play them from time to time, because they’re something I’m immensely proud of and it’s a truly great memory and achievement I’ll hold onto forever ❤️
So with that, it’s time to say goodbye.
Thank you Rob, Lee and Chapman Guitars

I'm so proud to have bought the first sig ML3, such an incredible guitar made for an even more incredible artist. I also have Lee's sig guitar, they're so great in every way. I was stuck in a loop hole with my playing and one day I stumbled across the Andertons channel. I found somehow of a family, some kind of teachers and absolutely inspiring personas to push the boudaries of my playing and artistic view of music. Just watching Rabea start from a "Pizza dude" to a guitar hero is so inspiring. If you really want something, make it happen! Thanks Rob for your confidence in what Bea could achieve right from the start!

I just wanna say thank you for the immense amount of support here. It’s genuinely heart warming to read these comments and I’m so grateful. Honestly that’s immense.. so thank you. Just to answer a couple questions. There is nothing going on I haven’t mentioned. I just really felt it’s time to change things up. The main thing I felt was to move on from chapman and see what happens. It really is that simple. Nothing has had to go wrong for me to leave. It’s purely a curiosity for myself and the idea of the unknown is appealing to me at this stage in my career. This is something Rob totally understood and quite honestly encouraged me to do. Offering me to be able to return should I ever choose to. So hopefully that clears it up a bit. Either way, I love you all and thank you for the immense support as always ❤❤ Rabea

Well done, Rob Chapman was dragging you down badly. I think you’d be way ahead of where you are if you’d dumped Chapman 3 years ago, but all that matters is the future. Feel proud that you are no longer in the shadow of such a shady weird man. Hopefully Lee will wise up soon too.

Hey guys Just wanna echo a couple comments here I’ve seen and clear them up. Some people have asked why make an announcement and is it to seek attention: Honestly the main reason, is that a lot of you guys have followed me from the start of my career on KZfaq. A lot of you have bought my guitars, as I’ve seen over the years and it’s amazing. So reallly, a lot of you are to thank for where I’m at and I just felt it was important to keep you guys in the loop with what’s happening. Since I’ve always done that, always communicated to my followers about my life and career so felt natural to do something like this. I really don’t care for the attention etc, as if you’ve ever met me I’m definitely the kind of person to shy away a little here and there. This video and post is purely to keep in touch with those people. 🙏🤷‍♂️❤️

A few decades ago, I was your age, Bea. Part of the journey as a human being, a musician and an artist is trying different things; this is an important part of how we develop. Sometimes those crossroads are really hard; I kind of get the impression that this is one of those for you. With your personal friendship with Rob and Lee, it’s probably way more difficult than it would be if it were “just professional”; but moments like these really show who your genuine friends are. Sounds like both Rob and Lee are supporting you and this part of your journey. Friends like that are priceless.

Bea, completely makes sense. Following you, Lee, and Chappers for over 8 years, what an amazing journey. Seeing your growth has been both inspiring and motivating in my own musical career and work. Seeing all that you've done with Neural, UA, Frogleap, clothing lines, and what I experience as creating your own community in your own way. Makes perfect sense. Good luck! Excited to see what unfolds over the next year for you and your future endeavors, partnerships, and seeing you follow your dreams!

I hope everything works out the very best for ya, man. You were what kept me going back to the Andertons videos for quite some time even though they're not the shop for me to buy from, being on the other side of the big pond from me. I'd been watching Leo M's videos for a while and it was awesome when I recognized you in a video of his and then seeing you (on video only, unfortunately) touring with Frogleap. It's been really cool so far, even if just from a distance for me, and I hope the future is filled with success for you! You've certainly got the chops to hang with the best of them, now go out there and make Rabea Massaad a household name, young man. All the best. And I don't know why this sounds like a goodbye, because I certainly hope videos of what you're up to will keep appearing here. So see ya next video. Go get 'em, Tiger.

Another time Bea you proved to be not just the most incredible and inspiring guitarist out there (in my humble opinion, but I believe it with my whole heart), but also a wonderful human being, a true friend to the people you love. I'm so proud of your growing during those years and I can't wait to see where will you take us in this journey. I'm very faithful because I'm 100% and beyond sure, that whatever you're going to do in the next future, you'll keep remember us why music (and i particular your music) is one of to most beautiful thing of being alive. You're an absolute legend, and I'll love you and your work forever; thank you so much for everythng you do, and good luck for what comes next! Cheers ❤

Hey Rabea. I'm really glad to see this. I feel like you've long outgrown the chapman brand. I have been a fan of yours for probably 7 years at this point. I have wanted to buy a signature guitar of yours (specifically a baritone) for ages but never did honestly because I don't particularly like chapman. I look forward to finding out where you'll go and purchasing one of your sigs if you do make a baritone again. Wishing you all the best and whatever happened to that album you and Hannah were supposed to be working on?

You were always the biggest musical talent that brand ever had, I came into this whole world via Rob's channel and I have gradually stopped watching Rob's videos entirely, stopped watching Anderton's videos entirely, you are the only person from that scene I still follow, you will go on from here to bigger and better things than ever, I'm sure this will be an exciting new chapter of your life and will be the best one yet

That company is trash all around. I had a ghost fret pro and it was HORRIBLE! I've seen rob make fun of people's playing, he took company donations and bought his son a PRS 10-top. This dude did the smart thing by getting out while he still could and save his good name...

Makes sense really. Followed Bea since the very beginning and it's been some journey, with the most impressive things seeing how he has changed and improved as a player. I see something like a signature Ibanez AZ model in the offing. I think if he now is moving it has to be for something bigger!!

Admire your playing immensely, and know you'll achieve more. Sadly Chapman has become, through nobody's fault but his own, a toxic and malodorous presence. He taints everything he touches and you and Lee are better than the level he'll drag you down to. Best wishes.

@@williamturner9450 come on “William” you know it was a LOT more than the Riff City issue. All the scams begging fans for cash whilst buying a lovely new PRS, his wife begging fans for money for singing lessons which never seemed to materialise etc. It was all so shady, plus his plank guitars were (and still are) dreadful with multiple problems. His response to being called out was to go full on bully in the extreme. It backfired and the true Rob Chapman was exposed finally. Hardly anyone believes his fake “GREEEEEEEETINGS!!!” persona anymore. Are you Rob? Because it’s odd that you’re suggesting it was only the Riff City issue and that everything is fine now.

It's funny because I've followed Andertons for a very long time and I remember Rabea being very nervous. It was certainly more Chapman and Anderton back then but gradually Bea was slowly coming out of his shell. Years later getting approached to have his own Archetype it really wouldn't surprise me if one of the big companies (if not all already) have a custom guitar on its way. It's been a pleasure so far to watch this journey and with the reins off, I'm sure the journey is going to get even better. Good Luck Rabea and I hope 2023 brings you even more joy in the music world.

I’m betting Ernie Ball MusicMan. I doubt think Strandberg but could be. Not too small for me but Rabea is a big guy and they’re very tiny feeling he said I’m a video. I could be wrong. I hope he continues doing Utube videos. Idk though. We have no idea where he’s moving or what’s up. I guess we wait and see. I think he saw how many companies wanted to work with him. He enjoys touring which I personally would not like. He has a signature Neuraldsp plug in. He helped with development with Victory Amps and has signature Bareknuckle pick ups and more. He will be fine. I just hope as I’ve said before he just doesn’t do real heavy metal. I like when he plays all kinds of styles. We will see. I also think I saw exactly when a decision was made. Just my opinion. It was the performance with the quad cortex at the giant festival with Stormzy. He was so excited. And not being a rap fan it was that moment I decided after passing on the quad cortex 3x I went and grabbed a used overpriced one on reverb because the wait was too long. Like 8 months to a year and that was a maybe. He’d make a great session guy that’s for sure.

Man the internet is weird. I've been following all of you guys (dorje, toska, the anderton's crew, etc.) since aeromancy dropped like 10 years ago or whatever it was, so it legitimately feels like I know you guys personally, even though I've never spoken to any of you, and live on the opposite side of the world. Because of that though, it has been incredibly satisfying watching all of you grow and find all of the success you have.
