Joining us on this week's I'm LIVE is the band wave to earth! Formed by Kim Daniel from The Poles and Dong Q from AIFF, the band made their big debut in 2019 with the single, "wave." Then in January this year, bassist John Cha joined the team to complete the puzzle, helping the band further solidify their position in the industry. As the band's name implies, the trio hopes to deliver their distinctive musical wave to earth and enrich everyone's soul. They are definitely on the right track to do, as recognized by CJ's Tune Up 21 along with Se So Neon, ADOY, and Car, the Garden. The three are also known for producing everything related to their music from composition to album cover designs, not to mention their fantastic musicality.

손닿을 듯 가깝고 생생한 음악을 선물하는 도심 속 라이브 콘서트 [I'm Live]. 실력 있는 뮤지션들과 공연을 사랑하는 시청자들의 사랑을 한 몸에 받고 있는 [I'm Live] 169회의 주인공은 인디 록과 팝의 신선한 조합으로, 올해 가장 주목받는 밴드 ‘wave to earth’이다.
‘wave to earth’는 밴드 'The Poles'의 김다니엘과 재즈 그룹 AIFF 출신의 신동규가 의기투합해 결성, 2019년 싱글 앨범 [wave]로 데뷔하며 가요계 첫 발을 내딛었다. 이후 올해 1월 첫 번째 EP [wave 0.01]을 발표하며 베이시스트 '차순종'이 팀에 합류, 한층 더 풍부해진 사운드로 ‘wave to earth’만의 색깔을 공고히 다져가고 있는 중이다.
또한 새소년, 아도이, 카더가든을 뒤이어 CJ문화재단, 튠업 21기 뮤지션으로 선정, 차세대 슈퍼루키 밴드로 떠오르며 인디 록과 팝의 절묘한 조합이 인상적이란 평을 들으며 All Self-made 를 기본으로 음악뿐 아니라 예술 전반적인 것들을 함께 만들어 나가는 것을 목표로 모든 레코드와 믹스 마스터 및 영상 아트웍 작업들을 직접 진행하며 ‘wave to earth’만의 개성을 담고 있다.
wave to earth는 [I’m Live] 공연을 통해 데뷔곡 ‘wave’와 올해 8월 발표된 앨범 [summer flows 0.02]의 타이틀곡 ‘ride’와 수록곡 ‘surf.’ 등을 통해 낮도 밤도 아닌 모호한 시간 속 바다를 유영하듯 몽환적이면서도 자유로운 무드로 당신이라는 지구에 잔잔한 물결처럼, 때로는 강렬한 파도처럼 음악으로 가까이 다가갈 예정이다.
