‘I’m Mad’: Charlie Adelson Speaks On Sister’s Possible Involvement in Husband’s Murder

Chief Assistant State Attorney Georgia Cappleman asked Charlie Adelson about whether or not he was upset with his sister - Wendi Adelson - after she allegedly threw Charlie “under the bus” to police as officers started investigating her ex-husband’s death. “Are you mad at Wendi?” Cappleman asked. “No, I’m mad that I got charged for a crime I didn’t commit,” Charlie Adelson responded. The state believes Charlie hired three people to kill Wendi’s ex-husband, Dan Markel.

That Ms. Cappleman is a terrific prosecutor. I think she's on the Adelsons' trail and she will complete the job before she's done with them. It's really incredible the whole family would get themselves involved in a murder with a lot of other people. These multi-millionaires have sunk their own ship.Donna and Wendi are next.

Charlie's Mom has left him to hold the bag. Wendy has also. A shame that the mother didn't allow them to have lives of their own. Would you drive by after getting the liquor which Wendi says its easier to go that way and seeing the police still there with yellow tape?? Wouldn't you call your ex to see what was going on..

Fun fact she lied about the "it's an easier short cut" Wendis route only made it take even longer to get to the liquor store the way she took. Investigator's already tested this themselves with the road driving routes showing that her route is actually way longer. Also Wendi then changed her story saying "I only drove out that way cause I was stressed with the divorce" so basically your saying you are so mad that you got divorced with the man you no longer love anymore that you decide to drive the longer way to the liquor store and stare at your EX's Rd? 😂😂😂😂 Also Wendi then says she never drove too close to Dan's Rd cause she saw yellow tape blocking it yet she never thought to herself if saying "oh my God is my kids ok?" She changed her story so many times. Even when she got put in the interrogation room for hours not one time did she ask detectives to check on her kids after just being told that the father of those kids got murdered and it's the same father that has to pick up those kids that same day. It's jacked up to even let Wendi off that easily. Dan basically got killed for being a good father. I swear I hope Wendi goes viral when she gets convicted.

@@evernit I agree with you completely. I think Wendi is the most dangerous kind of human. Dan had served his purpose, so Wendi began a 1 1/2 year smear campaign in order to rile up her parents and brother. And as she orchestrated how the crime would happen, Wendi made sure that only others got their fingerprints (so to speak) on this crime. Dan was shot on a Friday. In just over 48 hours she had an attorney in place to wall herself off from police. People like her don't operate the way most of us do; without real capacity for compassion and empathy us humans become little more than extremely clever and dangerous animals.

No reputable lawyer would suggest either that a client propose it, or that a client agree to it. Such an agreement is unenforceable, because in custody issues the best interests of the children are what is considered. I know someone who is very much like Wendi. During the time I was around her I was always amazed at her immaturity but I also knew that she never had to clean up her mess because her mom and dad were always there to do whatever she needed, it didn’t matter if she was in her 20’s, 30’s, 40’s….Her parents thought they were helping her but in reality they stunted her development.

Take out all of Wendi´s mistakes and the Adelson´s get away with this. There would be some evidence but think about what would be gone. Wendi telling the police that Charlie considered hiring a hitman, her telling Lacase Charlie is considering hiring a hitman, her driving to the crime scene, her buying Bullet Bourbon, her writing all that stuff in her book, her loitering around Dan´s house when Sigfredo and Luis were staking it out, and finally her ridiculous interrogation right after the murder.

The prosecutor does an excellent job of drawing out intentional misrepresentations by Charlie Adelson. He is a skilled deceiver, as he was trained his whole life by his mother. But several times in this direct examination, the truth shone through.

You have to take all of the evidence that includes what he said today you need to listen to that and then make a wise and rational choice. Turning it off doesn't turn the truth off. I've listened to this since opening statement and I came in it with an open mind. During part of the proceedings I kind of thought he was looking guilty but my stance is completely firm now! Wendi thought she was caught when detectives brought her in from the murder. She threw Charlie under the bus immediately. I believe they made the decision that if all went south Charlie would take the fall.

I kinda think Wendi (upon Dan not wanting to move) went crying to her mother and said "Do something Mom". Mom then went to her son Charlie and talked it over with him and Charlie said he would take care of it and he had an idea. Mom may or may not have known about his plan for the murder plot. Not sure dad did. I think Charlie told his sister about it because she had to manage her behavior appropriately and she had to know what to tell the police. There was no getting around that. I think the sister was accepting but nervous about the plan. Charlie came up with the idea of murder and planned the whole thing.

Donna (Mom) absolutelyyyyyy knew!! She HATED Dan & she wanted Wendi back home more than anyone! Wendi wanted to be back there too, but not *that* much. Wendi had a great job in Tallahassee, she had friends, AND she had her sons. Been following the case for years. Donna is the most toxic train wreck of all the narcissistic Adelsons!

I think so too. I'm just saying that Charlie came up with the idea, sold it to his mom and mom and Wendi went along with it and let him do it. I think Wendi was a bit nervous about the whole idea but didn't regret it or feel bad about it at all or she would have gone to the police to prevent it. She was scared and that's why she went to look at the crime scene. Immediately told the police about the joke (the TV vs hiring a hit man) so the police would look at Charlie instead of her. Wendi and mom are just as guilty as Charlie.@@margaretchabaud9700

He testified on the stand he told katie he was in no way going to be involved in any of this mess......yet he lets her walk out of his house with all of his cash.....after she spent the night......again....makes total sense😆. It’s amusing that Wendi and Jeff Lacasse drove all the way from Tallahassee to Miami, and her family takes them to a restaurant whose menu is almost a caricature of Southern-fried downhome food (gussied up for the Miami crowd). It’s like when my Australian friends visit the US and to screw with them I pretend we’re going to Outback Steakhouse. Jeff dodged a bullet (to use a dark metaphor) by not marrying into this gang of scheming narcissists.

She was unprepared for the extortion defense and she was unprepared to cross examine Charlie because she assumed he wouldn’t testify. Rosenbaum did an exceptional job preparing Charlie and developing a theory that gives a plausible alternative explanation for every incriminating detail. The jury might quarrel with why the hitmen would need to murder Dan to extort Charlie and not just extort him, but that won’t be enough for a conviction, and I believe Charlie is going home. Cappleman was outlawered. Sometimes murderers walk free.

7:20 right here, Charlie Adelson is lying through his teeth. Stalls by saying innocuous conversation took place between him and his sister before she vomited. She didn’t barf bc she had two drinks; she threw up bc her brother told her the job was done, or something akin to Dan Markel’s murder. Wendi is complicit somehow.
