The sad thing is the boy probably hates her because he doesn't know what she did for him. All he knows is she took the chance to be adopted and locked him in a room so he couldn’t.

Considered the fact that the poppyplaytime world is so dark it is a pretty good example of what they did to the children in the game and don't forget Mob Games said that chapter 3 will be a lot darker
