Yeah and she put herself in that position that's what's even crazier. I'm not making excuses for the guy but 4 psychologists found him to have a personality disorder and his family asked that he not be able for him to represent himself due to previous mental health issues. He's not in his right mind that's obvious. Mental health system needs to change its failing healthy citizens miserably. Letting sick people slip through the cracks whether it be this guy or a mass shooter. They've all had symptoms before hand. It's very difficult for them to be forced to take medication now because of " civil rights" issues. This trail is another mockery of sanity.

Mr Brooks was diagnosed bipolar at 12 years old after father left the family and he always had a bad temper and was defiant. But his mother loved him and did the best she could. But he knew very well how to manipulate and get women to do what he wanted. The poor mother lost her car in the attack and has no way to travel now because he didnt' care he destroyed the only way she had to go to work. He didn't really ask to borrow it he just said I am taking car because he wanted to find his ex girlfriend in Keneosha that's the reason he was in a town he didnt' know the streets to find her to intimidate her. That's why he left her in angry rage and allegedly ran over parade route pedestrians because he knew one of her friends called cops and he was on probation and did not want to get caught in altercation. It's always about him and his needs. Always.

He doesn't trust anyone to have his best interests at heart if we use projection theory he is the most untrustworthy person in that court room or jail. He ruined his mother's car and expects her to spend $40 each way in an uber to go see him in jail and she said she could not afford that cost that she can only call him. Defense attorneys working for the public defenders office get paid to get rid of cases through plea deals not by lengthy expensive jury trials.

@@WindTurbineSyndrome with the amount of evidence against him you are probably correct the PD would have suggested plea. But I think in this case it's more likely Mr Brooks wanted to claim immunity to common law because he's a "Sovereign Citizen". The PD obviously can't support a defense that's fictional and absurd. How can anyone be both protected by and immune to the constitution at the same time? Since the PD would have refused the sovereign defense I suspect that's why Mr Brooks wanted to defend himself.

I was a stenographer for 35 years. On the keyboard, for the word "objection," we press the letters "OBGS" together, simultaneously. It is just one stroke of the keyboard. As another example, "is that correct," can be written by pressing the letters "STHARBG" simultaneously, in only one stroke of the keyboard. The keyboard is not designed like a typewriter keyboard. It has only 22 letters and the numbers 1 through 9. We learn how to use combinations of letters to create words or phrases, thereby creating a shorthand that allows us to type upwards of 225 words a minute. Some stenographers can type 300+ words a minute.
