Original version I recorded that got the discussion going: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ps19lMaTydO2dXk.html
It was requested that I do a tutorial on how I play "I'm Not In Love" by 10cc. Hope this helps. Always happy to hear your comments and suggestions.
Elliott

that was such a pleasure to hear you sing, you can hit those high notes so easily and with clarity. you match the sentiment and ability of both 10cc and will to power's version. i would like to hear you stand up and belt the whole song out start to finish. keep up the good work!

The great thing about playing guitar is we can all play it the way we like and feel it right? So many diffferent styles and ways to play a guitar whether it's techincally right or not. Great tutorial. you make a great teacher my buddy Elliot,you sure know your music and guitar. You're a maestro,I wish I could play like you! Maybe in a 100 years if I study hard enough. ;) I learned from this. Go get em my bro,show us Earthlings how it's done! and Neptunian in my case. lol ;) Great singing!
@zerobio

Absolutely...in retrospect I should have referred to it that way instead of the A/B in bass...but the way I had explained the chord being based off an A major with B in the bass seemed to lend itself more to calling it A/B. But I probably should have mentioned the B11. Thanks a lot for your attention to detail.

Thank you! Yes, you are probably right, I don't need some of that info about the chords. It might be useful to some, possibly boring to others. But thanks, I'm glad you agree and appreciate it for what it is. As for singing...thanks also for your compliment, I really appreciate that. Wish I could say I had a coach but nope. Just sing all the time in lots of different environments. Oh I was a street musician for years, that helped. Good luck and come back again.

I'd have to watch the video again to see if I actually said the song was in "A", I hope I didn't because the dominant key here is E. There is, of course, a G# in the E inversion I play in the verse and possibly I did a full-on G# bar chord as well, not sure. Your G (which does not HAVE to be in a song, even if it was in A), does show up in the chorus but likely I did Gmaj7. I don't recall a G at the end, did I do that? Let me check it out again.

Yo, nice job. I'm always trying to figure out guitar parts for songs that don't really have a guitar part. Having taught myself by ear its not always easy. Although I did the tutorial and sometimes post chords in the info section, I feel a bit odd writing out the lyrics and chords because it isn't my song. A C6 G#m7 G#(+b13) C#m7 A C6 G#m7 G#(+b13) C#m7 A B7... it's because The C6 is an Am with a C bass (pinkie) stuck on. The G#b13 is not as difficult as it sounds and is a nice movable suspense chord. Barred 4th fret (4th) and then (from low E string upwards): E string (4th fret) A (6th) use your pinkie D (4th) G (5th) B (5th) E (4th) I know it sounds difficult but it isn't. Have a go and see what you think.
