I was hoping there would be a consultant that would know the colors and maybe suggest that for them but they weren't helped at all you just go in there and pick out your dress and I thought what a mess. This is important in your buying expensive clothing there should be someone helping you there just as if you're going into a wedding place.

It's part of the tradition but you are not forced to wear it all the time, you can switch them with sneakers, specially for the "informal" exhibition dance. You can also practice with those 1 or 2 hours a day

My mom was always there for me and always supported my decisions no matter what. Normally I do everything and make decisions by myself. But sometimes when she makes these small requests like letting her style my hair or choosing my outfit for the day, I let her do it as long as it’s not for something like an important event for me.

I needed a dress to attend my cousin's wedding and I already imagined what my dress was gonna be but my mom chose a completely different style I almost cried like a 7 year old but in the end I loved it I don't know about you guys but I should say moms knows best for their daughters even if you are all grown up😀😀😀😀☺☺

If you think about it, the mom probably wasn’t rich enough to have a party, so she probably has this whole idea in her head about how she would like it to go, but she probably didn’t have the money. Fast forward to the current time, she has a daughter who’s about to get the party she’s always wanted. Of course she’s going to want to pick something from her own taste as she never got to before. She’s living through her daughter because her daughter is getting the opportunity she never got as a child. Sorry if I’m being a little protective for the mom, it’s just that I feel sympathy for them. They help raise and guide us through life, so maybe choosing a dress or at least giving their opinion shouldn’t be something they get hate for.

1. Quince means 15 2. The mother explanied that she never got to have a quincenera so therefore if you were more understanding you would know that yes the mother did need to lay back because it isnt her quincenera but she isnt in the wrong for it, she simply imagined it as her own, but during the end she understood that she should be more considerate in her daughter

Everyone wanted something different for my 15ceañera, I threw everything overboard and said "My party my rules!!", then my mum thought it was cute to bar my aunts from paying the party, even though she had agree that it was my party and it was my rules. I ended up not having a party at all... nor a car, nor a trip because my mum said so. so mothers DON'T MATTER when it comes to daughters' celebrations. And they should know, understand, and accept that. But Latino mothers are set in their ways, very controlling and borderline abusive.

It was her quince her mom should’ve not gotten the heels unless Honey was okay with it and she told her mom repeatedly she doesn’t want to wear heels. I didn’t have a quince but I had a 16 Party, I had to wear makeup(even though I don’t like wearing makeup that much) but I was okay with it as long as it was for a day but my mom never made me wear heels she always told me to wear what made me comfortable.
