Күн бұрынIn This Video, I will be giving my honest review of the anime Yuusha, Yamemasu (I'm Quitting Heroing), and ranking the characters on a tier list! I will be talking about what makes it one of the Worst spring animes of 2022 ... and insulting everything about it. Season 1 of this anime was released this spring of 2022. There is currently only one season and due to it reaching a conclusion, there will probably not be another. I Think. There is a manga that you can read, so I recommend reading it (not really) even though I have no idea what happens. This video contains heavy spoilers, so be aware if you plan on watching the anime or reading the manga. If you do happen to read this much by some miracle, I am always open to suggestions, whether new content or problems with the videos. The story of this anime was focused entirely on Leo's identity and the philosophical question it asked. While the questions weren't really answered, and Leo didn't changed much, it was a journey of both him, Echidna and generals, all of which had their arcs and development. I think tho that the anime was too short to establish everyone properly. But what we got was a nice closed story, contrary to almost all isekais that have no ending and quickly loose it's purpose and goals. I miss the times when we had stories with purpose...

But something did change? The first season was a setup for everything else. Now, Echidna actually likes Leo now. So now they can focus on saving the demons and whatnot

I really loved this anime but if they were going to let him live I would love to see a time jump in a future series with this character and see how he reacts after choosing to stay with his friends and all his friends dies of battle or just of old age and see if he has that progression or regression. It’s a concept I thought would be amazing to play out.

I agree with your views on this anime, it was promising at first and I wouldn't have minded if the hero fought against humans for a change, but the anime derailed for me after like episode 10. I would love to hear your opinions on the anime Drifters, it's not a well known one, but the creator is the same as hellsing, I tought it was a fantastic anime.

@@LunarEquinox Agree. It must be during the airing or be classic. Also in manga it is more expanded (such as on ranks or that girls have demi human sex slaves, it includes his sister and the green haired guy's ex after her heart was broken - she regularly spent all night with the slaves).

To me the ending was really the best part the episodes in the second quarter where whatever still fun thou then we get him having a crisis an their answer to his issue is beating his almost dead body an telling him off an his reaction is wait did that work dam it fits them all as people quite well

Currently caught up with the manga. While I still think Leo should've died, it does explore what happened to his other siblings, whether they survived and how they, like Leo, find new purpose and found family and connections outside of themselves and humanity. Best girl gets more backstory and development as the story progresses and they continue fixing issues in the demon world.

Die a hero or live long enuff to see yourself become a villain. That should have been the ending theme, and would have made a beautiful tragedy, even have him say something like he will get to spend the rest of time with the demon king even if it is only as a stone

Agreed. Ending screwed up the whole story. He should have died tragically because that “Oh I’m an AI therefore must protect humanity” shouldn’t be overturned in 5 minutes. Then they forgot about literally everything else they built up. Gah!

@@theoreticaltrap992 It made perfect sense to me, the "I'm an AI therefore must protect humanity" might've been overturned a long time ago in terms of his lifetime given that, at the end, he was literally told simply try turning it off, it's just that he never believed he could which made him much more of a human character to me than he was before. Maybe a tragedy would've been fitting but I completely disagree that it not being one screwed over the story

@@ale-hl8pg Ok, but the problem was the story’s premise. Leon is not a human. He is an artificial construct who’s inbuilt purpose is to protect humanity. A being endowed by his creator with a complete and singular purpose. Finding a technical work-around or paradox in his purpose would be much more satisfying than simply “flicking it off”, which dismisses the entire reason for his existence, and laughs at you for having believed the narrative presented. Basically, Leon’s programming should function as a natural law embedded into his being, not crude brainwashing. I would draw an analogy to human needs/aspirations like “being distinct from the collective”, “leaving a legacy”, “following your passions”, and “learning as much as possible about the world”. Such things cannot be ignored without your own mind threatening to drive you to despair and insanity.

@@theoreticaltrap992 I do agree with you, it's just that the explanation of him being alive for around 3000 years was fine to me. It seems like an interesting premise to explore what that'd do to a human being psychology wise, but I imagine he's went through multiple bouts of despair and insanity as you've described. I'd argue that the show did attempt to show that with the few flashbacks we're given of him, when he's told by the talking imp that eventually he'll have to destroy the world to protect it, and him at some point attempting to do just that. I doubt that those were the only times like that though. Though I do agree that him finding a technical work-around could've been more satisfying, especially if him being accepted by the demon army at the end was the trigger for his motivation to do that. But one other question I have is how he's not completely batshit insane, assuming he did go through moments of batshit insanity and despair.

I think that the best ending for this would be if Leo would survive and work for demon kings army but it would be a tragic ending as Leo outlives all his loved ones. He would clean the castle and cook food for nobody as there is no one else left, everyone in the army would have died a long time ago. As time passes and Leo has nothing to do he starts to remember his original mission which was to protect humanity, but there aren't any humans to protect anymore. Overwhelmed by his failure to stop humanity from ending and haunted by the memories of his friends he tries to kill himself but can't. No matter how he tries death just won't come and release him from his suffering. And then the last thing that we will see is trillions of years old Leo floating in a dark and empty universe, not really conscious, not really unconscious with only unending vastness of space, darkness and memories of his past there to accompany him.

The thing is Leo is not dead because there's a continuation of the story in the manga. The story doesn't end at where the anime eneded and maybe they could do a season 2 or something.

I really had high hopes for this anime. But every episode was just uneventful and just revealed his backstory little by little. The only good thing about this was the ending which was good but did absolutely nothing. But this anime was a disappointment because I had such high hopes.🤔

the problem with this series is the problem many series face: TIME. when you only have 12 or 13 episodes to tell what is effectively the beginning of a story, it tends to not be great. it is very clear that this entire first season is setup for the rest of the story, and as setup it is self sacrificial in a way. it spends its time developing and introducing the characters to lead into the the next part of the series, but that next part might not even happen. While many might point out alot of anime do very well on their first season, well yea, some stories have less setup and faster pacing. some series have more setup and slower pacing. unless your name is One Piece apparently being in that second category is a sin.

Actually there is a reason how magic was use instead of technology maybe when the demon came magic spread like magicule or mp and humanity realized this and use this and boom that's how magic came Also maybe technology attack don't work 🤔 (Just a theory) And yes this anime is trash but on ⅕ of it is good

I'm really glad they didn't pull a Legion In Mass Effect 3 he needs to upload some code to the geth, so you can either kill him, or let him commit suicide, because copying code destroys the original for some reason... Basically he just dies because the plot demands it. Or you can interpret it as a cringe anti-piracy propaganda, like that "You wouldn't steal a car" garbage. The simple solution of just "turn off the heroing command lol" removes so much fan arguments about alternate endings, it's insane.

Nah, technology works, they did find some mechs in the anime. But all the smart people died, so technology got lost.
