I think the younger generation of women are waking up to this. Choosing to opt out of marriage or if they chose marriage and it isn’t fruitful, divorcing and living life happily single. This wasn’t presented as an option socially speaking, until recently. We’ve seen in movies and books of women being described as lonely spinsters and old, cat ladies.
