I"m glad they're still working on it but, I'm not interested until it's actually a good phone or makes some sort of sense to buy. Right now it's just a novelty. 3 or 4 more iterations from now and maybe they'll have something I'll want to have.

Been using mine since it released and had no issues, traveled with it used it on the plane to watch movies, used it as GPS when driving around, use my air pod pros with it with full features, works with my google home environment, charges extremely fast since yes it is a small battery, and hasn't slowed down on me once. I use the case it came with and haven't had any issues with it. The portability it has when putting it in my pocket is amazing. This is coming from using a Pixel 3XL. I think its a great phone, does everything I want it to do. Yes its still new tech but for what it offers I think its great. And lets be honest here...the key selling point here is flipping to answer and flipping to end a call like a boss.

One of the Z flip's hidden features is that you can poke the screen like it was a gum and say "Wow, look how weird it is" until you _accidentally_ break the screen.

Yeah, the tech is definitively interesting, but I'm still going to wait a bit with this thing. I'm ok with it not being the latest gen processor, battery life is more important then performance for me, I'd like good audio quality (ideally with a built in DAC), battery life (preferably with replacable battery), good screen quality (not so much in terms of number of pixels but in terms of colors, some variant of a 1440p screen would be perfect for me in a phone as I can't see the pixels of 4k screens anyway in a phone but *would* like a *little* bit more then 1080p), some ruggedness so it can fall down without being damaged, be used for a long time without damage due to wear and ideally some water resistance. Decent long range data speeds, not too worried about wi-fi 6 and other short range high bandwidth stuff, a decent camera, doesn't have to be the best but needs to be good enough to take quality pictures and ok videos (the videos don't need to be good, I'm fine with the videos just being ok), good call quality with good audio quality when talking on the phone, good mic, at least when it comes to voice quality, it should be easy to hear me when I talk in the phone, for other things I'm ok with some loss of quality if I say play some music on another device or instrument or something and someone else is listening on the other end of a call. I think something like that should be possible. =) On the processor side I think I'd be happy with one superfast core (flagship single thread performance), one fast core (last gen stuff) and 4-6 slow but energy sipping cores for the CPU and a decent midrange GPU, decent amount of memory and storage, neither of them needs to be the fastest if the processors has enough cache, otherwise a somewhat fast RAM might be required, but if there's enough cache I think I'd prefer more but slower RAM and rather a big L4 cache in the processor to help with snappiness, possibly with a data management co-processor like the PS5 helping with pre-fetching data from memory and loading data *to* the memory without consuming CPU resources, with slow storage it wouldn't do much in terms of actual speed, but reducing CPU load and ensuring that data is already present in the memory could help quite a lot..

Definitely feels like a beta test sort of device. I look forward to the second generation folding phones. Maybe we'll get a folding Note some day.

This looks promising to me, I'll be keeping a close eye on the next generation of this if there is one, I'd be interested in owning a phone that compacts down but has a strong screen (both in res, size and actual strength), it has potential but this first version is a bit meh.

that's easy to explain: the Samsung designers just played a lot of gameboy advance sp, and they think like "why I don't make a phone with that design?"

I would appreciate a full LTT on this one even though I think it would have the same conclusion. I think It would be good to go in depth with some of the benefits if any and drawbacks of the folding screen itself.

I really miss having a flip phone and even with the problems the new Razr and G-Flip have they've been pretty tempting. My big hope is that the first gen failure doesn't stop them seriously pursuing this technology.

I'm a note user currently using a Note 10+ and I have always jumped in on new smartphone tech immediately like with the original note edge(I LOVED the utility of the original edge and would like it back lol) and to me the bigger the screen the better. But I also like and want top of the line specs and features. So when the fold came out last year I almost got it but after seeing the crease and how fragile the screen itself is I decided to wait another gen or so. I'm not gonna hold out until Samsung eventually merges the fold and note series(I'm sure they will keep a cheaper more standard note version around like the normal note 10 last year) because I love the pen. With another year or 2 of improvements to folding screens and hinges I would love to see a fold with a non square tablet sized inner screen for multimedia, a full current note sized fully functional outside screen for normal phone usage, the pen for all of it's usages and Ultra specs and camera. So maybe something like the Galaxy Note Fold 2(or 3) Ultra lol. I even want it to have a curved screen on the front if not the inside also if that's possible because I love the look so much and haven't been able to appreciate a screen without it since it became standard on galaxy phones. I'll gladly pay 3k or more for a phone like that.
