Some thoughts about why I decided to sell my movie directly to my audience through my website instead of going with a traditional distributor.

One thing I’ve found fascinating is how much planning and integrity you’ve tried to hold yourself to with your content. limiting your most popular series to 10 episodes, branching out and digging respectable footholds in other tangentially related subjects, and ultimately playing a long and methodical game while staying respectful to the audience gives me a good road map. Cheers.

I am so very elated and simultaneously woefully depressed to hear that the Checkmate Linonlnites series will be coming to an end. I have watched those videos endlessly and have learned so much about the conflict because of it. It is the whole reason that I found this channel! If it must come to an end however, I have great confidence that you will execute it with divine providence and finish the series with the spectacle that it deserves. If at all possible I hope that we will have a satisfactory conclusion to Billy and Johnny's story, even if it seems that the real conflict their characters are based off of is still on going. I know I don't fully understand the difficulties in writing an ending to this conflict between the two characters and the societies that they represent but I do respect the effort that it will take. Having them come together while the real life conflict still continues would almost be like how during the 1940s Superman defeated the NAZI's in the comic books, even though the real war still continued. I aspire however we will get an ending with some hope at least, hope that the phantoms of these horrible people may finally be forgotten and we can come together as a nation. I have so many questions about its production over the years and how the story has changed! For example the series started out with the Atun Shei personality arguing and then that character was subsumed by Billy Yank! It would be amazing if after the finale was released there could be a retrospective stream where the audience could have questions answered etc. I hope to be able to buy a copy of your movie on physical medium one day. Thank you -Jeff

I am so happy that this is coming to streaming soon, I was scouring the internet yesterday trying to find when it would come out on streaming. I really wanted to see this movie but sadly for me there were no theaters near me showing it. Will definitely buy a copy

I am not going to lie, it took me quite a while to relise that you're the guy that does the American civil war videos that I sometimes binge watch. A hat, it seems, is quite the disguise! Also, more related to the video, I'm now going to have to search for your film and see what it's about.

Glad you have done it this way, makes it so easy for us to access. Can't wait to be able to watch it, was worried that depending on how it went that it might be difficult to access in some way. The price is exactly what I expected/hoped for, so that's nice too. Will be the first movie I've ever bought in my life and in this case I'm happy to.

Andy, thanks for the update. I hope other emerging film makers will benefit from your observations and advice in this video. I will be happy to pay to see The Sudbury Devil and I hope that the revenue generated will appropriately reward all the artists who have worked to make this film. Being lazy, selfish and greedy, I also hope that this works well enough to ensure that, in the fullness of time, your talents are harnessed to a further feature film project.

So glad to hear this. I was lucky to catch the live stream back in September and actually made a video about the movie. It's great more people will be able to see it.

Yes! So excited that I'll get to finally watch it! It's not easy being a "foreign" fan. I bet it will be the best 10 or 20 bucks I'll ever spent. Specially when the money goes directly to your crew.

Will we be able to download the movie DRM-free when we buy it, to watch it offline? Or is it streaming-only? Either way, I can't wait to watch it. Congrats on the film, and best of luck with the digital release. 🙂

At least "Alien, Baby!" on the same platform where "Sudbury Devil" will be released has both streaming and download enabled, so I would deem the possibility quite high.

Congrats and good luck! I can't justify paying for my entertainment at the moment, but hopefully in January. I would absolutely love to rent or buy this movie. And I want to add, as a writer and visual artist, that self-distribution is the wave of the future for everyone in the creative arts - or any small business, really. The established platforms, distributors, and systems for getting our stuff in front of the public are completely infested with middlemen who don't really deliver what they promise but always skim more and more off the top of our work. So yeah... nope. Done with that. We've already got global market reach, just by being on the internet. What do we need all these other services for?

I would have pirated it tbh, but that’s great breaking it down like that with so much honesty. Happily buy it and looking forward to it.

I'm completely broke at the moment, but I will absolutely buy your movie when I get the means. Independent media is always the best since I believe corporatisation kills art and humanity. People like you are who I believe are the soul of the industry and I love that the internet allows you and other independants to create and distribute their own vision with minimal restriction. I can't eait to watch The Sudbury Devil!
