I'm SICK of YouTube's Double Standards (how are THESE ads allowed but YouTubers get banned?)

It's ridiculous how much KZfaq restricts and bans content creators for breaking *GUIDELINES* yet willingly promotes hypersexualized and misleading ads on their platform. It's a disgusting double standard and it needs to be addressed
Also go support Telepurte's art, they are awesome and deserve support

The elusive rant video on my channel. I promise I won't make this a habit but I wanted to at least speak out and share my thoughts and experience with this issue. KZfaq imposes strict rules on content creators yet promotes ads that clearly violate the same rules. They also turn a blind eye to corporate KZfaq channels (music labels for example) and exempt them from their own rules. Worst thing of all is how KZfaq has a "shoot first and ask questions later" policy which led to the termination of Telepurte's channel. It's back now but KZfaq said "oops our bad" and just pretends like that wasn't a huge mistake that shouldn't happen to INNOCENT creators. All in all, there's a lot to be improved upon for the platform that is KZfaq so it can take better care of its independent creators and provide a place where artists don't have to live in constant fear of having their livelihood wiped out with no way to effectively appeal it

Yeah, we should be pushing this app even more. Why allow kids on the platform that was made to literally allow for EVERYONE to express themselves in the way they WANT, when the kids themselves have an app to watch content on their own level? It makes no sense. KZfaq made the app in February 2015, but are being forced to comply with COPPA since 2020. Where channels like Telepurte try to put out content that is actually GOOD, albeit a little risqué, a random "kid's" channel will make a video that makes borderline pornography with cartoon characters. Meanwhile, gaming channels are being banned from swearing because "Think of the children!" Yeah. Think about them. Then think about the same application you made specifically FOR them. We literally made their app, but they won't even fucking USE it. They're literally acting like the children they try to protect. In short, KZfaq is being cringe.

What I never understood is why adult content doesn't get adult ads? Watching a vine compilation with my kid and the ad is some dude smearing peanutbutter on someone to promote condoms? like.. gross as an adult, worse with my kid in the room. But the shit that I actually want to watch while I'm sitting in my office at work with cursing and "adult content" not even sexual doesn't get promoted on the algorithm?! KZfaq is actively discouraging good, entertaining content from being created while at the same time making it more and more difficult to enjoy wholesome family friendly content with a young audience. While I pay for premium for a variety of reasons, I will never discourage anyone using adblock on this platform for this exact reason. In all honesty, KZfaq as a platform is an absolute sh*tshow, 90% of the mechanics are purposely hidden or obscured. KZfaq refuses to communicate with it's content creators, to the point KZfaq changes and bans seem arbitrary, and when a creator attempts to contest the ban or demonitization, they have to go through a maze just to reach the KZfaq arbitrators, and they tend not to care much.

All animation channels have gone through at least 1 ridiculous situations where youtube just decided to poop on them for no reason. Even if you're not breaking any rules, random demonetizations, strikes out of nowhere, it's incredibly discouraging specially for channels focused on art, who already struggle to stay "inspired" and willing to sit down and draw for countless hours throughout weeks or months just to get spit on the mouth and feel like all our work meant nothing.

I feel that the worst part about Telepurte’s situation is knowing that he didn’t even want to make a KZfaq channel initially. He made it in response to KZfaq not doing anything about all of the people re-uploading and not crediting his work. His channel had hardly existed for a couple months before KZfaq took action, yet all of the ‘365 Days of Telepurte’ compilations get to stay online for some inexplicable reason. Edit: As pointed out by Tamashi in the comments, the person who made the “366 Days of Telepurte,” Hyun’s Dojo, is a friend of Telepurte that was given permission and has given Telepurte a large portion of the ad revenue on the video. I am sorry for directly calling out his video on the subject without knowing much of the backstory. While it is still extremely hypocritical of KZfaq to keep a compilation of Telepurte’s work on the platform while punishing the original creator, it is good to see that there is some justice in the world.

KZfaq's disconnect from it's content creators and community astonishes me. Naked dolls if they arent some gross stuff and are sold at your local retail store, usually don't have anything innapropriate. There could be a dark side of the doll customizing where they do gross shiz but whatever. It's not like some kid is gonna use a hammer, smash the windows, go to the store, return home somehow and do random crap with the chemicals he somehow got. There could be a warning for some videos like "xxxx might be dangerous to use, please use xxxx with supervision from yyyy." which could be fair, since I can imagine people following along with a doll customizing video, especially younger audiences. In the end, it's most likely an innocent community KZfaq is throwing under the bus.
@robinfinch314
@robinfinch314 3 жыл бұрын
Doll customization channels don't want to be marked for kids anyway. They're artists who craft these often extremely small things for to perfection that they put on dolls. It's unfair to demonetize them and turn their comments off just because society thinks that dolls and crafting is for kids. There has honestly been this issue that a lot of art types that are seen as 'feminine' such as doll customization were in the talks of getting the 'for children' hammer and it's really really annoying and sexist. No one would ever think wood crafting was for kids so why do so many people look at doll customization and think it is? It's not.

And I as a small YT creator have also had this kind of BC happen to me. It's pretty sad, considering I got a copyright claim in a video I made a year ago today for no freaking reason whatsoever (In case you don't know, it was because of a song by Crowder that was not even in a SINGLE SECOND in the video.). So that makes me pretty pissed off now come to think of it.

I wouldn’t say that. After all it wouldn’t be profitable. But the issue is that KZfaq is trying to please parents who want to protect their children; by stamping down on cussing, nudity, etc. They also don’t want any nudity (obviously), but it’s hard to for people to monitor billions of people and billions of people. I’ve seen the progression of KZfaq from 2010 to modern day, and I’d hate to see this wonderful site go down. I feel like the algorithm is one of the main issues here; it feels incomplete, new-resulting in a bunch of innocent people being needlessly punished for no reason. KZfaq needs to have a more intelligent algorithm. However, sadly KZfaq is a company, as a result, they focus on money (which I can’t blame them for necessarily).

Literally, we need to create a new KZfaq, a new instagram, and a new Twitter. @@lexyshannon9428 The problem with that is that part of the reason for these algorithms (at least the copyright and some age ones) are put in place because of a contract between KZfaq and the publishers so that KZfaq is not legally responsible for the content posted, and the situation can be resolved with a minimum of court cases. So if you create a new system it wouldn't be protected, and you would have to negotiate contracts, so you aren't sued to oblivion by these company/organism. And these contract will most likely require algorithms (like the one on KZfaq) to enforce the policies due to the sheer size of the platform. So return to the starting spot. The only real way would be to change copyright law, children protection law and free speech law at an international level. To adapt to the fact that in the modern world companies aren't the only ones susceptible to trigger those laws and that in today system most people can't afford to be sued even if they are in the right. To adapt to the fact that most crime related to those laws are international and that the policies of one country can affect others. That most of these laws don't have any clarity and fail to adapt to the party involved. And all of that with granting the immunity of the platform with condition while at the same time limiting the biased enforcing powers they demonstrate.

Life is harsh and weird and dangerous and ofcourse you want to protect children for the brunt of it but if you shelter them too much they will be unable to cope at older ages. There are the tragic stories of kids dying during A pretend wrestling play but most end up with some bruises or a broken bone or two at worse and that's fine kids are tougher and more ressilient than most modern people think.
