Hey Dominique The Professional truck driver. I watch your videos for some time now, I like it when you and your old man or at the auctions enjoy those. But to the point don't be so hard on yourself I understand how you feel your young but you're a seasoned driver. We're all only human we make mistakes and that's a given, and you learn from it. And don't be ashamed of what you done but back into the vehicle, I still have the utmost respect for you as a damn good truck driver. As a Colorado log hauler I can relate. I've had my share of accidents and screw-ups, even a layover turnover, felt so bad I just want to crawl in a hole and hide haha LOL. I got a lot of respect for you and the owner-operator It's A Hard Road and you seem to be making it work. And you no injury or death in your accident that's a good outcome hang in there and the best of luck looking forward to more videos God bless you and yours

Hey you know I don't live in America, I am in the UK, I used to own an old ford fiesta mark 6 Zetec from 2003, was my first car and I loved it to bits, I remember pulling into the petrol station one day to buy fuel, so I filled up and noticed someone had parked in front of me in the first pump bay, someone comes in behind me a little close and is waiting to fill up, I could have waited for the car to go in front as it was a tight exit to turn my front wheels at full lock, but I didn't and I was a little stressed out about me being boxed in, I didn't think really, tried to edge out and I caught the cars back bumper with my front bumper, I felt such an idiot and I felt so bad, I said I am so sorry for doing that do you want my insurance details, I got out and looked and said I haven't done anything else have I? Oh why did I do that, he could see I was so upset and that I had done more damage to my front bumper instead of his back one, he said as you are such a nice person and you didn't mean to do this etc, I think a bit of T-cut should get rid of that little scratch, I said are you sure about this, he said yes it is fine you go on ahead, I got in and waved to him with a down look on my face, I felt relieved but still felt so down, you are right these things happen, we aren't perfect and even though it was a few years ago now and I have a new car, I still managed to curb my lovely penta wheel 😣 on my new car, the fact that you delt with it calmly and was willing to help out shows pure honestly, a really good person and a really good driver, we learn but it happens, you are right and I completely agree no one can go about their life not doing something to their vehicle, or other people's vehicles by accident, but that fact we deal with it and are willing to help, makes all that important difference, I can relate to you I really can. Though I never did get rid of that mark on the side of the bumper haha, but it was a reminder to me to wait next time if it's tight 🤣 or get out and look my dad would say. Thank you for sharing, and I am always willing to share too.

@@DauminiqueTheDumpTruckDriver In the larger City near me (Calgary) People hit Pedestrians and leave, what you did is no big deal. You owned up to your mistake. You are fine. A Driver hit my Brother and left too. My Brother hauls a Super-B full of Butane that is used to thin the oil down in the Pipeline going south, so that could of really been bad. You are far from an idiot driver. You are a professional from what I’ve seen over the years. My father had about 5 Million Accident Free Miles when he passed away in Jan of 2020. 😢 The worst Accident he had before he was at the Company he was at when he passed was pretty bad. When he first started trucking some guy pulled into a Service Station to get Gas and casually mentioned to the Clerk he was going to commit Suicide. My dad was coming into town fully loaded with Cattle and the Guy pulled out from the Service Station right in front of my Dad. My Dad T-Boned his Car and Rolled I guess there were Cattle everywhere. I wish People wouldn’t involve other People if they are going to do things. Killing that Man was with my Father his whole life.

I’ve been trucking for close to 25 years. It’s very easy for things like this to happen. All you can do is own your mistakes, learn from them, and move on. Sounds like that’s exactly what you’ve done here. The very best drivers I’ve ever known have screwed up a whole bunch of times, and learned from every one of them. Lord knows I’ve had some dooseys!

When I was training for LTL city work my trainer shared the most important words of wisdom that I think we all need to hear or read. He told me "don't let all these other people that don't have a clue rush you into making a costly mistake they can wait you have a job to do." He's very right, most of the people in cars couldn't care less about being in your way when your making turns or trying to get out of a lot. So why should I care about their brief inconvenience while I'm trying to do my job and do it safely.

It’s tough to keep your focus when in a difficult situation. Years back my grandpa told me that, not just in trucking but, in life there will be “bumps” along the way and we have to take them and learn from those experiences how to avoid them on the next trip. He also said the more that I dwell on the mistakes I make that it allows for more to be made. Good for you by handling this situation by keeping honest with yourself. Nowadays most people would’ve tried to lie their way out of this had they been the one responsible for the damage. 👏👏

One time I had some work done at my place that was quite expensive, I paid the person and he took my check put it in his pocket and marked my bill paid in full, a few weeks later I had realized I had shorted him $5000,00. I called him up to make sure his books balanced (not telling him the amount) reflected the difference he said yes he was short that amount. I immediately wrote him a check for the shortfall because I knew I would not live with myself knowing that I had done that. My conscience is clear!

You are too hard on yourself. You handled this so professionally. The key here is how you resolved the damage not the fact the accident happened. Keep up the great work.

I expected something way worse. What a gnarly route and trying to figure things out on the fly. Great learning situation.

Oh Dauminique you look absolutely mortified , bless you. I can tell you are a genuine and honest person and holding your hands up is testament to your character. Nobody died, cars can be repaired, you made a mistake under pressure, it happens. In a vehicle as heavy and as big as yours you're not always going to feel a bump or a scrape. Liked and subbed, best wishes to you, Daz, Leicester, UK.

Absolutely magnificent woman you are to own up to your own faults. Therefore no one is perfect and we all make mistakes. I know I’ve had my share of mistakes and it just goes to show you what kind of woman you are to own it and it makes you a good person makes you a better person, I know there’s times that I do things and I feel guilty and I shamed of myself and I asked myself why but then after I talk to my clients or my customers and when you’re honest about things, it just makes you a better person I wish there was more people out there like you God bless you happy trucking and may God be with you on your safe trips and your journeys. Love your videos keep up the good work.

Wow, by the headline I thought the story was going to way worse and costing you thousands of dollars! Also so nice how both parties could come to a very nice reasonable agreement! Like my coworker said already “” Momma said you’re going to have those days”” Thanks for sharing your story! You have a nice caring heart ❤️
