Her face, hair and the sweaters are really pretty! If she had more whimsical design I'd be on love. I don't get this take on mermaids

This is my favorite jacket out of all of them, so I'm sad it won't stand the test of time. I like this line, just still debating which one I want from this series, either her, Kishiko, or Crystabella. I kinda wish MGA would combine different doll aesthetics into one doll, like a Mermaze doll with a Dream Ella sized head, an OMG Fierce lower body, and OMG or Rainbow High style clothes.

I love this Harmonique in winter waves more than the other 1. We have Gwen so far. Def want Crystabella. Maybe Nera too. Yay mga gave earrings in ear muffs again I love the earrings Poppy WB came with even Violets were nice. We didn’t collect Harmonique in the 1st wave or Riveria I do still want to get Jordie I prob should have grabbed when my Walmart had her on clearance for $20 🤦🏻‍♀️ but I think at the time Amazon had her under $15 🤔

I am here for the changes to hair, etc for characters. They’re fantasy mermaids so sure why can’t they have changes with the seasons or their moods or whatever? Goodness knows plenty of real life animals can change their colors and shapes. Ok maybe they can change their look to escape being brutally ripped apart predators of the deep… we can integrate that concept into the show right? 😂 I agree the faces are looking much less “dead eye”. I love the snow globe gimmick and I remember loving color change gimmicks as a child (dating myself here but I specifically remember enjoying color change on my wee lol miss doll and my little pretty kitties). Her color story is also absolutely stunning. I love a good winter pastel palette. I still don’t love the clothing elements incorporated into the tails. I appreciate it from a design sense in terms of how innovative that is, but it limits fashion versatility and that’s something that would have especially bugged me as a kid. I love the idea of incorporating icicle/ice elements into her “winter tail” but that tail just looks so clunky (as do many of the mermaze tails). I can’t imagine a mermaid being able to swim with it… but I guess it’s all magic so I need to suspend my disbelief 🤷‍♀️ The doll stands and articulation are incredible. I would have absolutely lost my shit if any dolls had articulation and doll stands when I was a child. I remember when Barbie introduced the first elbow and knee articulation - I first saw it on a winter sports midge and I thought I had died and went to heaven. She and my twirling Teresa were the pride and joy of my 1/6 scale fashion doll collection. The details and all the little accessories are phenomenal. The mini makeup and shell phone are especially appealing to me, and the cassette player is giving me so much nostalgia. MGA are no fools- they know it’s generally melennial parents who are buying for their kids and we are suckers for nostalgic touches, even those of us who don’t still love toys a little “too much” like me. My biggest criticism with these dolls is still the fact that every single character is some form of the rock star /pop star aesthetic. I don’t mind that there are characters with that aesthetic, but I wish they would introduce some more whimsical, pure fantasy designs. Even as a child, I was simply never into that sort of look. I’m was never into gem or Barbie rockers. I even resented the over-dramatic makeup on my childhood Costume Ball Barbie. I preferred a cleaner face that allowed me to dress them up or down. I’m sure this makes me sound like an old curmudgeon, but I’ve noticed that so many dolls these days get donated without ever being removed from their original outfits. As a thrifter that makes me happy, but the insane part of me that personifies plastic feels bad for the dolls. I’m curious why there is so much less restyling of dolls with this generation - is it planned obsolescence on the part of toy manufacturers, the increase of mounded elements that limit outfit changes, an overflowing toy market where children have way more dolls than when I was a kid, a combination of the above, or perhaps some other reason(s)? I still have yet to see the mermaze doll that I absolutely must buy “for my daughter” (yup, I 2000% use my kids as an excuse to buy toys), but hopefully ar some point they will release one that’s a “must have” for me. In the meantime, I’m really glad this doll line exists in the world. I’m thrilled to see a return of quality and detail in children’s play line dolls. Ok ramble over (for now)

they are so for me too, i really hope with christmas children will have the chance to have them and give the brand the hype they deserve. I hope they will still improve in every line and we will see mermazing stuffs coming. I'm sad to see all the store full of them and not being sold. But at the same time when Rainbow high did launch, they were not flying of the shelves ether and i had the chance to choose perfect one in every display lol. But yea i'm happy to see peoples like you enjoying them as much as i do since there's not too much of reviews on the brand.

Supposedly all of their tails are removable. That means they COULD make new tails with the ability to sit to exchange with.

I wonder if you Scotchgard the fabric it'll keep it from degrading/peeling, or will it harm?
