I was a little girl when my dad sang this song to me while playing his guitar. Although my dad passed away years ago I still remember these moments (makes me cry). I miss you Daddy ♥♥

This reminds me of my grandpa. He was a cowboy and rancher. Very stern and serious. He loved this song. I remember sitting in his truck and hearing this play while heading to town for livestock feed and supplies. Looking out the window at the New Mexico landscape.

This sounds just like my grandpa. Except we were in Florida. Lost him a year and a half ago. I was the only person he wasn’t tough on and that’s bc I would force him to be soft. Sure miss you pa! RIP Cleo

We played this at both My Mom and Dad's funeral as they were both Hank fans. Makes me cry every time I hear it as reminds me of them so much.

I hope you're doing well. Your name makes me think of my mom. She'd always buy me a hot wheel when we went to get groceries together.

This was played at my dads funeral as well. I'm sorry you lost your parents. It sucks when that happens. :(

It isn't just another sad song. It's his personal heart. That is what makes it's gold

My dad’s favorite song the last place he was seen was in my hometown at the burger bar! So sad his great grandson sounds like him, but this song makes me think of my father hank was his favorite even as a boy he told me he scrambled to the burger bar to get hanks autograph, he never got it but his love for him never changed!

This is the saddest song I know....and I love sad songs. The imagery is Shakespearean. The slow cadence of Hank's delivery sets the perfect mood.

Yes and Hank is singing this in perfect iambic pentameter.....point being emphasis on the second syllable of each phrase....this is meant to mimic the beating of the human heart. He knew this.....

I only ask my wife come in first. Leave our daughter in the truck to tell her something to keep her out before my wife sees me.
