After this, I feel like you've gotta watch the making of the song "Can't Live Without Seo Changbin". It's peak 3RACHA comedy, but it also gives you a lot of insight into their producing and it's a really good song, plus it led to the unexpected collab of Chan and Lee Know, and the creation of their masterpiece 'Kulchong'.

For the braids he apologised, he thought this hairstyle could look great on him so that is why the stylist made the braids, and Chan actually liked them, but when he understood that African and afro-american people felt like it was cultural appropriation and not appreciation he made his excuses and since then the stylist don't do this hair style anymore. I hope that can make you understand. Thank you for your reaction.

I just wanted to say that he actually said it was 100% his idea, he didn’t want people blaming the stylists wrongly and he didn’t know it was wrong at the time so he asked the stylist to do them for that performance. @@aliciapark6241 As far as I’m aware Dutch braids and French braids are not CA, I’m saying this as a white person so please take it very lightly, This is what I’ve gotten from listening to the Black Stays who were effected negatively by this. What Chan did was a hairstyle called cornrows which is exclusively used as a protective style for curly hair types that Chan does not have. Making it CA. Black people mostly in America but other countries too have been put down for wearing their cultural protective hairstyles so to wear it when you don’t need it, because you think it looks cool, is disrespectful which is what he did even if he didn’t know at the time.

Thanks, this was fun! The clips from Runner's High are from an in-house JYP performance by 3Racha in early 2017, about a year before Stray Kids debuted and in fact before the group was formed. They all have birthdays later in the year, so in Western ages, Chan was 20, Changbin 17 and Han 16 years old for that performance. Chan raps less and less these days He is busy with leader responsibilities and composing/producing. He also took over a lot of singing when their lead singer left in late 2019, so he sings more these days to keep a better balance, since there are 4 other members who mostly rap. When they made the two unit tracks for the Oddinary release, Chan joined the vocals group instead of the rap group. They were embarrassed by the last track that they listened to partly because of the lyrics (pretty juvenile, a bit sexist, and sort of standard "boys talking about things they've never actually experienced because they think that is what they are supposed to do to become famous rappers") and partly because they've all gotten so much better at their craft. You can see short bits of them producing scattered through some of their "behind" content, and more of them recording. You can also check out clips of them producing a song on Chan's Vlive (episodes 95 and 100), just for fun, called I Can't Live Without Changbin. It was supposed to be erased right away, but Stay liked it so much, it's on their content list now, and there's a lyric video. Part one from Ep. 95 is just Chan and Changbin, Part 2 from Ep. 100 has all three and it is one of the most hilarious things you've ever seen. Also watch the extremely short min-episodes of 2 Kid's Song, where they pair up and all make a very short song based on one of Chan's beats--in that one you get to see each one of the 3Racha unit mentoring another member (Hyunjin had already started writing songs, so he ended up mentoring one pair). And the 5 mini-episode series Howl in Harmony shows bits of them writing the unit tracks Gone Away, Surfin' and Red Lights. 3Racha recently collaborated with Japanese rapper Sky High on Just Breathe. I'd say Chan's best rap recently was on Kingdom's Mayfly rap performance, you might check that out again to see how he's grown. Changbin has several solo rap tracks, try his Cypher and Streetlight, and also check out his feature on F Hero and Milli's Mirror Mirror. They are Thai hip hop rappers and all three kill it. Han has some solo rap tracks, check out I Got It. Han's lyrics make puns and double/triple meanings across both English and Korean (Probably Japanese as well), some of the most fun videos are Andy from AndynJas breaking down Stray Kids' lyrics, especially Han's (Andy's a native Korean speaker totally fluent in English). More rap-heavy tracks from Stray Kids are Maze of Memories and The Tortoise and The Hare. Both are experimental, creative, definitely out of some folks' comfort zone, but amazing.

Wow 3RACHA version was created when all of them were in their teens. The content is literally is about…Well, you should go find their lyrics, it was cringey for the boys but SKZ fans usually love Wow 3RACHA version coz it still slaps hahaha. If you do realize, in their earlier years, SKZ barely, if any, have any love songs. Wow is not an official release but 3RACHA has A LOT of songs pre-debut. My favourite is ID:a. They performed it underground somewhere and it was fantastic! 3RACHA is worth exploring, coz their sounds, while still distinctly SKZ (coz yeah, they DO produce for SKZ) but it is more raw and lots more, or almost full rap songs than SKZ songs in general. Different but still good.

I can see this *video is pretty old* . 3racha is no longer "rap group" (they were rappers pre-debut, before Stray Kids happened), now they are officially *producing unit* . Actually in songs Bang Chan almost never raps anymore. Han is doing like 60:40 rapping:singing. Changbin like 90:10 rapping:singing. Now 3racha is known as the producers, not rappers. Felix and Hyunjin even rap more than Han is songs. In conclusion, this video makes no sense. It shows you their old raps. Not even the better updated ones and not showing their producing/song making part, which is the reason of that unit nowadays.

What got me into SKZ in the first place were the similarities I saw between 3racha and bts rap line. And then boom, me becoming a multistan. *CB97: Christopher Bang, born 1997.* 1:25 Thing is, he's both confident and _not._ He's the guy who'll go for a whole video killing you with his shirtless self, then turn bright red with embarrassment when he watches it back. 😜 1:30 Internally cringing, probably. 🤣 2:20 Here, by the way, is the full performance of Runner's High. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/d8-ChdaCvs-0do0.html It was at the same Homecoming show in mid-2017 that Stray Kids (or "Boys' Project Team", as they were known at the time) were picked to debut (over a proto-Itzy). As others have mentioned, at this point, Han was 16, Changbin 17, and Chan 19. 3:15 "Kick 808" refers to a synthesised bass drum beat. And God's Menu didn't come till _years_ after this... though knowing Chan, who's to say he hadn't already started writing it..? 😉 3:25 Yup. "기차/gi-cha" is Korean for "train". 3:30 Not _that_ Fake Love. 😉 It's a reference to _Drake's_ song of the same title, which apparently Meek Mill was spotted singing despite claiming to no longer being a fan of Drake's. 5:10 April 2019, actually just a couple of weeks after their first win with MiroH. It's an interesting point you make, but yeah, even a year plus after debut, they were still trying to find their musical identity, and were frankly just enjoying playing around to find out what it was. That's part of where the Stray Kids name comes from. 6:45 He's referring to how he tends to work all night, so he'll have the lights off so as not to disturb anyone, with just the famous laptop he works on providing illumination. 6:55 Fun fact: This is a reworked 3RACHA track called P.A.C.E, and makes reference to "Skepta-hyung", who's Chan's _long_ been a fan of. A couple of years later, Skepta found this footage and retweeted it... needless to say, Chan was _made up._ 😁 7:15 This is MAMA (Mnet Asian Music Awards), a big Asian awards ceremony, which on this occasion (December 12th 2018) was hosted at the Japan's Saitama Super Arena. SKZ had just won Best New Artist - Male. *SpearB: Spear is **_an_** English translation of the Korean word "chang" (창), and the B, of course comes from "bin".* 9:15 Not _rapping_ awards per se, that I'm aware of, but there are the Korean Hip-Hop awards, but 3RACHA don't really operate as a hip-hop unit except for the odd track, so they wouldn't really qualify. There is a highly-rated rap talent show called Show Me the Money, which Changbin competed in one year. But they get to a point where the standard is _so_ high, you can be eliminated for the tiniest of mistakes, which is pretty much what happened with Binnie. Unfortunately, he wasn't on his A-game because he was exhausted; he took part in SMTM on his own time _while SKZ were in the middle of promotions._ Hopefully one day he'll be able to go back and show them what he's capable of at 100%. 10:00 It took me a minute to grok what you meant, but yeah, I get it. His voice sounds like unbridled rage, but his face is cold. *J.One**: The J stands for Jisung, and One is a translation of his surname, Han...* 12:55 It's literally about the buzz they get from performing, just like the adrenaline rush that runners experience. 15:35 Yeah, half (well, half-ish; there were nine of them at the time) of the group wore black suits, the other half wore white. 15:55 They do, but this was looking back at _old_ tracks, several years later. And _this..._ is *Wow.* 😜 They did three of these listening parties originally, one for each of their mini-albums (which, as far as I'm aware, were only ever released digitally, on YT and SoundCloud). Especially with their third release, they were actually pleasantly surprised at how good they were! I'd recommend watching Kingdom anyway, but around episodes 5/6, you get an insight into their process when 3RACHA compose Playing with Paint alongside Ateez' Hongjoong and BTOB's Minhyuk. There's also a pair of "Chan's Room" VLives; in the first, Chan is pressured into writing a song praising Changbin (featuring Changbin)... then in a later episode, Han adds his own input... 🤣 For more 3RACHA goodness, how about some underground lives from July 2017 (about the same time as the Homecoming), where the boys took part in a local open mic night? This uploader got footage of all the acts performing that night, but of particular interest, three tracks from our boys: Runner's High: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qtODgMVk2tK5fqs.html Don't Touch Me: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nLZ4d5iLuq_Hj30.html iD:a: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/btmii7OorbXFk6s.html (watch the DJ... 😜)

Especially now in the time in which BTS hasn't really released much SKZ was a really good group to get into. They have so much to offer, they are as hardworking as BTS and while they are coming from a big company they still had a lot of obstacles and hate in their way, which they've overcome. at that time chan made the mistake that so many black culture fan kpop idols made: tried a style that does not belong to him. :D im glad they're one of the very few groups that acknowledge their offensive actions tho. that's why i find them genuine. anywaaay, 3racha as rappers (channie is not a main rapper like binsung tho, his priority in skz is vocals) are SO impressive, i know they're gonna go places, they have to. even more impressive is 3racha as producers. there are several videos you can find of them producing, like can't live without changbin and the kkulchong edm remix (chan made a ridiculously good song out of an adlib lmao)

If you'd like a more updated 3racha guide with more info on the members included I highly recommend watching Stray Kids Guide: 3RACHA (2021) by Vic Killjoy!! (checking it out off camera is fine too! you don't have to film it since you already did this one)

no, han isn't shy, he's cringing cuz it's a REALLY cringy af song and it has a line "jeogiyo noona hokshi namjachingu isseyo?" by han which translates to "excuse me noona, do you have a boyfriend by any chance?" which they recorded when they were younger so it was a lil embarrassing for him to listen to it. kinda like what "expensive girl" is to RM or the line "take it off, just take it off now gurl" is in the fandom, same way jisung has been trolled for this line since eternity and will forever be. but still, the song overall too is really cheesy...

At the last count Changbin was the fastest rapper 11.13 sps. He is all machine gun rap and telling the truth. Han is all emotion and word play. Bang Chan is all musicality and forming new sounds and flows.

You mentioned the "fighting spirit from Han" which I also love because the lyrics at that point of the song were words from a Haka, a Maori (indigenous people of New Zealand and parts of Australia) warrior chant meant to inspire fighting spirit. We also see parts of a Haka in Miroh's choreography. Chris has always taken an interest in and had a lot of respect for the indigenous people of his homeland, so we see it here and there throughout their music and choreo.

7:34 From the couple stages that I've seen, I take it that they bring their awards on stage a lot. Which, like you said, is abs cool haha. Its just such a SKZ thing to do yk? What I've noticed is that they aren't much like your typical kpop group. They don't mind standing out and making statements. Like, what kpop group releases (scratch that PRODUCES.. *their own)* a few songs dedicated to their haters. And the fact that they aren't shy to perform them too is just WOW lol.. SKZ are something else and no one can deny that.

Okay so there's one thing that I feel has been forgotten about Han Jisung.. an that is that amazing, cool sound he use to use for his persona.. I'm talking about that "gaah" noise he's make before starting his verses. Examples are I Am You and District 9. Not to mention,.. I am totally in love with the fact that because he makes a lot of gestures, sounds, and more.. it feels as if he really is enjoying the moment and giving it his all in his performances. For him, it not just a performance. This man was really meant to be on stage and making music. He's not my bias but man.. I find myself always bragging with him. Tbh.. SKZ is just that group you can brag about. He stands out among other rappers in kpop cuz he's just interacts so much. There's so much movement, facial expressions, her versatility, his aura.. his PERSONA. He's just amazing!

Every culture, Caucasian, Native, East Indian, Asian, African, Arabian, Vikings, Celtics, Hebrew, Iberians, Moroccans, Maltese, Hispanic, Latin America (I literally can't list all of them because there are too many) used cornrows or similar braiding techniques FOREVER. Even Koreans in the Josean and Goryeo eras for like a thousand years. With prehistoric art, in particular female statuettes called “Venus” dating from the Gravettian period (between 29,000 and 22,000 before present) and discoveries in Europe, we are struck by their similarities to Africa. We have ALL used braids and "cornrows" for thousands of years! Cultural appropriation my A$$! Go braid your dang hair any way you like no matter what race or culture you are because I guarantee your ancestors already did it! And if you ever come up with new braiding techniques...share it with the world so everyone can look fly! Don't just say only "your people" can rock it because that's not building equality 😘. I'm just saying 🤷.
@Yetti.

its interestimg that you picked up about changbin and han's rapping identity, because they did talk about each other's style while on stage like few weeks ago. changbin admit that he felt lacking in expression hence he learned how to do it by observing han's style on stage. but he said it is still kinda difficult for him. though imo i dont think i can manage him being as cocky as han because the damage would be too much lol

they definitely didn’t mean it in a disrespectful way. “quite disrespectful for u to even imply that these guys are almost on their level”. it’s an opinion. if she believes that they are near bts level, then let that be. it’s okay for other people to praise a group that isn’t bts. it wasn’t “a bad comparison” or anything. it’s okay if you are a hardcore bts stan, no one if forcing you to like stray kids. you are the type to put down other groups to feel better about the one you like, which isn’t absolutely terrible, but don’t be weird about it online.
