We can unknowingly invite darkness into our lives, but like you said, we need to call upon the name of Jesus Christ when we feel afraid. Darkness hates the light and Jesus brings light into any situation if we just trust him and invite him in.

I disagree with what you said starting at 9:50. My life got better when I walked away from the catholic church at 23. There are trama groups, programs, and therapists that specialize in rehabilitating people who escaped from a cult (that include the catholic church) and offer help to those who need it. I being one of them. After many years of therapy and trying to undo the religiouse brainwashing, I can say that my life got better. I am now a 26 year old homeowner and work as an administrative assistant at a local bank. My income is steady, and I'm living my best life. If I had stayed in the catholic church so much of what I have achieved wouldn't have happened.

Things actually may get harder when you follow God more because the devil sees us as a target so sometimes there are more trials that come your way and God wants to see if we are going to pass the test or not.
