I am very sorry for your friend - this is really unfortunate / = The problem though is, that many people - just like she - do start transitioning at such a young age and never end up regretting it. What I think is important is, that she is happy now - especially considering how she attempted to jump out of the window, as in she was HIGHLY suicidal. The family treats this very carefully - in the video they say for now she hasnt decided on surgery yet and she'll only be blocking her puberty, as well as taking estrogen. She can always decide to stop these meds and then go through a typically normal male puberty, which will result to her having facial hair (if she has the genes for it), lower voice, et cetera. What I'm saying is - there are always some people who end up regretting transition, which is why there are specialists and procedurs and long theray sessions to make sure the clients really are sure about this - or as sure, as they can be. Medicine and Professionals are doing their best - but even they sometimes fail -and some people make mistakes. However, the bigger number of transitioning people ends up being very happy - and having their live saved. To me, it seems clear that she is very happy and content - and I pray it will stay this way. (As long as she doesn't have lower-body surgery though, I assume most changes - in case she reconsiders - should be reversible.) She appears very mature for such a young age though, so I think she knows what she is doing.

People aren't offended by the child. They are offended by the parents reinforcing the delusion that they are a girl. If, when they are an adult, they decide to transition, that is up to them, but the primary focus of a parent is supposed to be raising their child to be a well rounded adult. And giving your kid irreversible hormone therapy before puberty is going to screw up their child even more than they mentally are already. The suicide rate in the trans community is 48%. If I were the parents, I would focus on getting the child to accept they were born male. Trans people that have accepted facts and fate have a far better survival rate than others.

Dakarn puberty blockers are reversible though? Also, forcing to accept that they are the gender they were assigned at birth may work for some, but not all. Self-hatred and loathing will lead to depression, and if it becomes severe it can lead to suicide. If my kid is trans, I don't want them dead because of me. Shit's gonna haunt me to the grave, and the afterlife.

Nuclear Effect As I understand it, the drugs and hormones they give boys for MTF transition affect penile growth among other things during puberty. Puberty might be able to be delayed, but nature *will* take its course eventually. Doesn't matter if you think you're the opposite gender or not. So when I say irreversible, I do mean that the drugs do things to the body that you can't take back. You might be able to take drugs and hormones to change your voice, but there are things that can't be undone after taking those hormones for years. After all.. they could go all the way into their 30's, living as the opposite sex... and then one day... like a woman with 3 kids who suddenly discovers she's gay... the trans person could discover that they don't like living as the opposite gender after all. Not saying that's what's going to happen.. I just think that you shouldn't be doing that to a child. If they want to go the route of hormone therapy after they reach 18 and make that choice for themselves, that's one thing..but I've seen people transitioning their 4 year olds... Like... I wanted to grow up to be a dinosaur when I was 4. How can a kid that little understand what's going on? They can't even tie their own shoelaces, for crying out loud.

yeah you know how many girls as old as 11 or 12 are getting set up on the pill? She wanted to die because she didnt feel right as a boy, at the age of 6 ... if you had a child that was that frustrated with theirself you would try to help her or him also... even if that means you need to think about medication ... I have been to psychiatries where children as young as 7 were given hard neuroleptica and psychopharmaca! And many children are getting adhd medication... which is basically doping and very dangerous for their health later on... so as long as you are not educating people about that cases, dont act like you care about the health of that transgender girl
