So boi jotaro challenged me to make a 3d game, and obviously i aint gonna say no to an invitation from jotaro, so i got to work on my very first 3d game, using Unity. This is the first part, I'll make the next one soon enough. There was just too much footage to fit into one video. Anyway I had a ton of fun with this, and 3d is actually pretty fun.
The game is about parkour, pew pew, and physics. Regarding the movement, I might make a tutorial or upload on github or something when it's done. It's all done using forces and physics, so it's a very open and fun movement system! Anyway throw some more challenges at me cuz im ready boi

Hey! If you're new here, welcome! I'm an indie game developer, currently working on a physics based game using Unity. This is my devlog / devblog where I show off the progress I make on it. I'll try uploading every week, but I'm pretty busy with university and part time job, so I won't have time every week. But I'll do my best!

For some reason, every time this guy makes a joke, every time he implements a bit of humor into any clip, I laugh uncontrollably, and it makes me feel good for once, and I like that. Not only are his skills refined, but he knows how to make a guy properly chuckle and smile. I respect that about Dani. Funny, skilled and talented, and I don't need to mention smart. Monster AwesomeHD - well vr is just a tinyyyy more complicated. Do to it being your body as the player. Making sure everything doesn’t make you vomit is difficult. I got into game development and vr is pretty hard. Sure, unity helps TREMENDOUSLY. But it’s not a piece of cake

Dani's momentum and movement system is so good that he should polish it a bit and either put it in a competitive movement focused fps shooter like Apex legends, or he should let other people use it for a fee. That wallrunning momentum and the rocket jumps + the sliding is incredible. And the effects make you feel incredible.

UV maps can be hard. You clearly learned so much from this, but did you know that you can export shading to make panel barrel look like smooth barrel? I mean you can do that in Unity too, anyway, is awesome game, I remember playing it in early 2020 at college. :P Also side note, I learned that saving backups when I plan to do "big" changes helps a crap ton, especially if you move to unreal, might want to get 1 tb storage minimum though as although unreal pretty, files BIG when uncompiled.

Initial thoughts after playing this game: - Movement is fun once you get going, however there are some things which are frustrating with it, such as the wall-jumping whenever you press space next to a wall. This happened to me more unintentionally than intentionally. Also I think that movement while airborne should be a bit faster, especially laterally, as I have oftentimes missed a platform due to being just a smidge to the left or right of it. - I like the song choice, but after a while it gets a bit repetitive. I suggest maybe giving each level its own song. - Definitely needs more levels, but I know that's coming, so I eagerly await it's arrival Overall, a very promising game. I wanted to give feedback so you could possibly improve it if you want. Definitely a game which I enjoyed, even though there were some frustrating moments. Amazing work! EDIT: I also think you should include a quick-restart key bind, so you don't have to go into the pause menu to do so. Just for those who want to speedrun it ;) EDIT 2: The level "sandbox 2" really pissed me off, mostly because the shotgun was stuck in a place where it was more difficult to get to, in a sort of jungle-gym style area. If I made a mistake in the parkour run section, I had to go back and grab the shotgun again, instead of actually do the parkour. EDIT 3: I also think that the timer should slow down in the slo-mo sequences, for the sake of speedrunning (EDIT 5: This was stupid, leave timer the way it is) EDIT 4: Jeez, there are too many things I am forgetting to say. The grappling hook system is extremely intuitive and well-done, good work on that. I believe that is all I wanted to say. If not, there'll be even more edits

Well instead of making the door out of a cube in blender there is an add on called Archimesh and it makes doors, windows, curtains, lamps,etc. There is another add on named Archipack it works pretty well. And you CAN put cell fracture on it. Hope this helps.
