Using budget gear is like a great chef cooking budget cuts of meat. The chef will cook the meat longer to make it tender and then use spices to brouht or add favor. Use budget gear you have to spend time with to listen and learn it, then figure out the EQ and other secret sauces to make it sound great. Even expensive gear you have to take time and experiment with it to learn how to get the sounds it's know for. It all about spending time and learning your gear budget or expensive.

You tried looking at your hardware buffer size, or maybe the preamp bus output is not routed to your record track

@@xavierreid9995 when I do route it to my record track it won’t work properly unless my record track is a stereo track so should the tracks I lay my takes on be stereo tracks too? Or am I completely off track

@@tookie3x629 all tracks should be in mono for the most part. Try assigning your your print track’s output to whatever interface and mic you have.
