I made a corset bodice with tree bark

What in the vegan fashion is this?! Earlier this year I saw bark on the ground and wondered if it would be possible to make some kind of garment out of it--and when my sycamore tree shedded its bark, I knew it needed to happen! And so, the bark corset bodice was born. I call it a "corset bodice" and not a "corset" because though there is a lace-up inserted in the back, the garment cannot function as one with the fragile bark. But it looks super cool, right? Cool enough for a forest fairy, an elf, a dryad, or many other fantasy creatures to wear! Please enjoy watching the process :)

This is so cool! My friends cosplayed trees (well, dryad characters but calling them trees is funnier) but using literal bark is a whole other level! I love it!

This project looks endlessly cool and would have been a dream project when I was a kid. Obsessed with woodland fairy core haha. Also, my kitty often allows me to share my office chair with me as well. First time watcher and SO IMPRESSES with your result and photos! You are so talented!

THIS LOOKS INCREDIBLEEEE!!!!!!! For a skirt (if you had time/wanted to) you could have used the leaves/vines from the tree.. although those would wear out soon, and I don’t think you wanted to break stuff off the tree.

Wow... I love the concept of using actual plant matter in costumes and apparel... But so often it's quite delicate so have resorted to replicating plant textures in leather in past projects
