The true story of this video is that Kamikoto reached out to me at about the same time as Tim Greenwood (Turgworks) released his scrapwood buildoff, so I just put 2 and 2 together and made a scrap wood project that also would fit a video with the awesome knives. The competition is still open to anyone in the world, so go build something and publish it on KZfaq or Instagram with the hashtag #scrapwoodbuildoff. And no, the prizes only go to residents in the U.K. but you can participate and have fun and build your woodworking network from anywhere.
This competition got me started making the pallet blocks coffee table, and man, if I didn’t make that, I would not have been where I am today. Which is a beginner woodworker making questionable projects. Thank you all for your support.
I have been able to get a good amount of tools in my shop over the last year. I’m not a full time woodworker, and because I also have another job that supports my cost of living, I’m able to put everything I make from the woodworking back as investments in tools in my shop. It has been all hard work, but you’re welcome to make a comment about how fortunate I am to have a shop full of woodworking tools that magically have appeared overnight. But just know that I take care of a dayjob, work in the workshop in the evenings and edit videos for KZfaq many nights.
