What if Scrap Mechanic was a Factory Game... Well, let's find out! So I've been working hard on turning Scrap Mechanic into a fun factory building game.
After a lot of streams, and dozen of hours of work, I present to you the latest updated to the Scrap Factory Mod! I've done a whole lot of stuff like adding a research system and so on. I can't wait to see where this mod goes! So subscribe to stay up to date!

It would be nice to have some kind of storage container for the materials so it won't lag as much when you want to use some kind of vehicle based transport.

Unless Dr Pixel says otherwise, I think so. He said the gamemode was inspired by Tycoon games, and this is basically their working principle unlike Factorio and such.

I will say, I wish the Value UI stuff, those funny numbers, was on the top left rather than the center, it looks odd to me. Though I'm used to different HUDS and whatnot. But this is pretty cool! I think it's neat

Really glad you did this. I appreciate the streams but they're just too long for me to watch and catch up, so getting a video like this summarizing it all is immensely helpful. I find it super interesting and would love to know all about how you made this happen, but I only have so many free hours in a day.

You should add a reason to transport resources through like a train system or something

You should add tiers to itens, like conveveor belts, and windmills. That make it produce more money, or power. While upgrading the texture so it goes from built by a farmer, to built with steel by an engineer. It should have to use a upgrader that makes you produce items from doppers and send it into it so you can upgrade stuff. SO you have to get a steel dropper, a wood dropper, a iron dropper, and a bolt sdropper to produce the items needed to upgrade the windmill to tier 2

11:57 - weird math trick bro. if you make those spinning upgrades spin to the opposite direction the average value of the blocks will increase.

you should make the research system need to get fed certain blocks like a green metal block that has been toilet paper upgraded 5 times and then all kinds of combonations for each level

You could add like a war tier lvl...... Add you could unlock Towers, cannons, guns, to kill the robots easier

I just wanted to say, if you ever try that pollution smoke effect again, try making a cube around the player and not a single sheet on the player. It will probably be easier to stay immersive. Honestly I thought it looked pretty cool regardless, just was easy to see around it 😅

What about machines? Like instead of just having a transparent field it actually goes thru some sort of machine (maybe animated?) For a few sec, then comes out upgraded. And plus how about maybe like miners/drillers, instead of spawners. And even more how about some X+Y=Z machines? Idk I'm just spitballing here, anyways love ur stuff bye!

Exactly! I could maybe add parts that help with building defense stuff, but a turret that does all the work for you would be kinda lazy (and a nightmare to code)

The upgraders have limits, but you can use the same upgrader multiple times.

It would be nice if you would make it take more power to sell more. That way you can't sell everything in one seller and it also gets more expensive the more you sell. Or perhaps a max sell per second limit.

Instead of writing the Unlocks in Chat, copy the Daily Reward GUI, replace the text with "TIER X UNLOCKED" and change the crate icons to the things you unlocked

Maybe make different types of ores have varying prices, what i mean is that on certain days different ores are worth more or less. Or if you sell too much of one ore it will tank the price. A good example would be the plorts system from slimerancher. Letting the player store up ore to sell on good days to increase profits

I don't recommend the daily rewards mechanic, as it is mostly used by skinner box games. You are right. But I don't think it hurts this much. It's not like there is any idle time that forces you to wait or something.
