I used my Open Trails Sweater Vest but changed it up to use a different yarn. I had to film this in my dining room because my studio is getting some work done. Can’t believe how quick you knit. Your top came out fabulous and the black looks great. Glad you mentioned the differences in yarns in the beginning of the video. It helped my perspective for the next time I buy yarn. Thanks

LOVE your skirt and think your vest makes it a great party outfit. I tried to knit a black sweater last year and gave up because I found it strained my eyes so much!

Your dinning room is lovely. This vest is stunning and looks great on you. For your whole outfit did you wear a cardigan with your outfit? I ask because I’m thinking of trying to make one for bday but I can’t go out with opened arms as it is very cold now.

Oh thanks so much! I wore a cropped bomber jacket with the outfit and then just took it off inside the party once it got crowded and warm! I hope you make one :)

I knit continental and purl backwards, if that makes sense. So, it looks good in the round but the knit stitches are facing in the other direction. Kind of twisted. I like it and I can knit super fast that way!

Black die needs to saturate the item longer. In wool it’ll make it thicker. In cloth it’ll be smaller. Ever notice black pants fit more snug than the snake item in a different colour?

Run the cable cord under hot water for a few minutes and it will straiten out.

@@AshleyLillisKnitst works really well. I put mine in a saucepan of boiling hot water or a long baking pan. It’s cool to watch but I’m childish like that 😂

Working on my vest. I really want to make the knit top you have a tutorial on, but I wanna try using mohair. Would you recommend doubling or even doing 3 strands? Should I change the gauge of needle?

oooh, that would be so fun. I would just check your gauge and see if it's similar with one two strands first. You could also use one strand of something else with one strand of mohair -- that's another option too!

if I used the lion brand wool ease thick and quick on 9mm needles that I have, would that still work?

I would just follow the pattern directions then for the open trails slipover as it’s written if your gauge is the same!

I’ve tried to make a long one …. It just takes soooooo long! And I can’t use bulky yarn because it’ll be so heavy!

I don't like working with black yarn🧶 all that much, need to sit by a window with natural, bright 🔆 sunlight. 😩🌞🌞🌞🌞🌺🦋🌻

I tried navy blue when I was just learning….not a good idea and it’s put me off dark colours altogether now 🎄⛄️❄️

Dark yarn is more difficult, but I think it hides imperfections more.
