I made a Tiny Briefcase for Business Cards
I've wanted to make myself a nice leather business card holder for a long time, but I wanted it to hold plenty of business cards - this leather business card wallet holds plenty! It's built just like a tiny briefcase with a full gusset, and we made a free pattern that has .75", 1", and 1.25" gussets so you can hold as many (or as few) business cards as you'd like! happy crafting!

It would make luxury companies want to add this to their collection if it would have that handle, just like what they do with their current big bag line ups, they make a mini version of those too. Like a crossbody accessory

Thank you for existing! I just started working leather and I've been watching your videos only for a couple of days. Working on my third project and already huge improvments. I got almoast all necessery tools. Some second hand and some new. A metal ruler is one of the new but I could not find one with cork or anti-slip backing for a decent price/shipingtime, so I glued a piece of scrap leather to the backside of the new ruler. Works great. Probably been done before but I wanted to share :)

I really love tiny objects. I been doing tiny wallets lately and it'ss so cute and satisfying when you put all the stuff in. (Love your channel, I see yours videos while hand sewing and is pretty cool working with other person that is working too)

What you can do is cut out 2 or 3 tiny triangles out of the round part, the gusset part, on the small side piece. That way you will get less awkward and fidgety folds. That is what I did when I didn't know how to skive, and still do it now because it ends up much easier and cleaner.

Nice, simple, effective design. i will make a few of these for my business and crafter friends. However, I might attach the male snap to the body before gluing it to the liner, to prevent indenting any of the cards.

With the leather rougher, if you use your ruler as a guide it makes it much easier.

those gusseted sides always give me a hard time. My fingers hurt watching this, and then i realized I have never glued the gusset in prior to stitching. Now I need to try it.

they give me a hard time too! my hands are just too big for stuff like that, I've learned over time to not worry about the edges being perfectly even and then sanding away the excess- once it's all together and sanded it always looks nice. Getting it all together tho - glue is a savior!

For me the edge is the hardest thing to do. I do a lot of sanding then burnishing. Yes you are right, it takes a lot of attention.

Good gracious this was a pain in the rear to make! It should have come with a warning haha..I'm just using some scrap oil tan leather thats probably too thick for this anyway. A good project to practice though.

Just an observation..I checked each link below and there is NOT a pattern for this design..the Weaver link is only a link to buy Super Overpriced items..Crazy 10x to 20x the price else where..Sad really because I enjoy your channel but You lose creditability by reccomending such a company that preys upon customers you send over to them..plus Zero Pattern for this design at Weavers..Thanks again for your great video tutorial as usual..

That is your free wallet pattern. To your point about Weaver's prices, I'd be interested to know what products you see that they are charging 10-20x the price for elsewhere. Weaver has one of the best reputations in the entire industry, which is why we reached out to them four years ago (they did not reach out to us) and have been working only with them since. Their tool lines offer the best quality for the price by far, so please let me know where you see price gauging. That's a big claim. Thanks.

@@Corter Okay,Okay..I admit that claim is a bit excessive, and perhaps a bit harsh to stress the point..but seriously the leather materials are in fact grossly over priced..such but noy limited to that pig skin at $37.99 when several other companies charge $9.99 with some of them then giving a free skin at a $9.99 price.. So yes the small hand tools are priced okay but the larger tools and machines are in fact crazy expensive.. Examples such as the powered burnisher for $900.usd..lets be real about it, its a $40 mini bench grinder at best with the burnishing attachments on it..its a very common theme with there larger tools and machines..like their $1600.usd hand powered sewing machine that was a Italian machine painted blue that used to sell for $200.usd before Weaver bought the rights to it..You have a great channel I just disagree with the business practices of your sponsor..Thats it..Best wishes my friend..

I think what you might be speaking to is a difference in quality - the bench grinders for example, you're paying a premium for a good product. That's why we show how to hand sand most things for the hobbiest. In my full-time shop I've had their power edge slicker for 9 years used daily with zero maintenance and it's never even blinked in use. thousands and thousands of pieces have been sanded and slicked on it, I Burnt out 3 of those $40 harbor freight grinders before I bought it. I understand there are cheaper versions of what they sell for sure! but i think for the quality they offer, with the warranty support etc the prices are more than fair in a professional, full time leather workshop especially considering they make most of their presses and such in house in the USA. They're certainly going to last a long time for anyone looking to buy equipment in the hobby that will last as well.
