Жыл бұрынFor ~1.5 months I spent my evenings and weekends to make my first VR game. My girlfriend had no idea I had any involvement in the making of this game - let alone that I was going to propose to her.

The first levels are deliberately "generic" looking, to lead her astray and make the surprise (9:36) even bigger.

• We used 7x"chicken" as a nickname, which is why there are 7 chicken to upright.
• "need your help over at the school"; we met at a school.

• We have a love/hate relationship with our Roomba.
• While she was playing I switched into a similar bowtie/shirt as the robot.

Not every proposal needs to be like another. The best proposal you can do is the one that suits you two's lifestyle and personality the most! For some people the best proposal can be this, for others it can be a perfect evening in their favorite restaurant followed by a proposal, for others it can be a proposal after a day in Disneyland, etc. Everyone has different things they love and tying it into your proposal is the key to make it the most special :)

@@moozycarrots i personally disagree, i can kinda see the joy in holding one of the photos and it seems legit. but i wouldnt be surprised if it was prerecorded edit: plus, the gameplay seems quite straightfoward and easy, so i think this all could be done in one run either way without any issues if they know how to play vr games. for all we know she could play vr games all the time. and even then i think they wouldnt have much trouble even if theyve never played a vr game before

Love is a a give and take, it's teamwork, and so if you want it to be successful then what you need is to understand your partner, not someone else's relationship

The UX design in this needs an award. Everything was built to 'just work' and guided the user so easily without any extra explanation (I know the user is likely to have used VR before, but I feel like that wouldn't matter). The only other time I've seen that in VR is Half Life Alex. Amazing work!

I actually attended a marriage in virtual reality because the 2 people both had relatives in other countries, but they wanted to make sure everyone could attend. They walked down the aisle, kissed, put on the rings, said their vows, had to reception, took marriage photos--ALL OF IT in vr. It was honestly really cool, beautiful, and scary. I cried, and not just because my forehead hurt after the first 2 hours.

@janetliu5231 That's a good question! Luckily, most of the people who attended the event already had VR headsets from other family gatherings in the past. They were a pretty techy family, and wanted to stay well-connected even though they were spread all over. I think they may have bought a few of the super close relatives (like, I think, their parents and maybe siblings) headsets. it was just taking into account as part of the cost of the wedding). There were a couple of people--maybe 10 or 12 (it was kind of a small wedding)--who didn't. But the entire thing was done on this app called Altspace, which has a 2D Desktop mode so you can interact with the virtual world without a VR Headset.

Anything is against any type of empathy I could feel watching this and... this made me cry! The KZfaq recommendations algorithm is a magical thing, but this proposal is even more so! It's enough to make a grown man cry...and that's okay. You know that feeling that you get when some big moment is about to happen to a bunch of characters you really love in a show, those, butterflies, for lack of a better description. This video was the first thing I’ve ever watched to have given me that in three minutes. The talent and care put in to make a life changing experience so special is beautiful. This was so incredible! You managed to pull just the right amount of heart strings. You truly went above and beyond with this! I wish you both the best, I can tell there is so much love there.

I don’t cry much, I tend to be rather calm emotionally. The end of the video still got a few tears from me. That experience is going to be a memory that will never be forgotten. It reminds me of how I proposed to my wife by testing several missiles, making the smoke from the missiles colorful, all launched in a way to form a rainbow. As I kneeled down, the case I held was a special button that said Yes on it, and as she pressed it, one more missile launched for fireworks. It was beautiful.

no joke, this is seriously one of the best videos i have watched in months, if not the past 6. the effort, creative style, SHEER AMOUNTS OF EDITS, the countless fails and time it takes to code (not sure how you even did that), MAKING YOUR OWN RING BOX, and holy god so much more has not gone unnoticed by any of us at all. im blessed to even be able to see and experience this masterpiece. *you have pulled off legitimate, real world magic.* and, most importantly, you have... so much love in your soul. i teared up just thinking about how much you genuinely care about your girlfriend (now wife!!! :D). i don't know what else to say. you're just so loving and caring, and spending roughly 2 months, going sleepless to craft this beautiful experience is just... No idea why the algorith showed me this video, but I just have to say: The ending parts of this game, after the 4th wall break happens, creates such a great atmosphere. Your calm narration over a heartwarming musical tune in an endless magical setting is screaming Superliminal vibes. Awesome job on this project as a game experience and, of course, stellar work for a proposal. Definitely one of the most creative ones I've ever seen.

This was so lovely and absolutely whimsical. The ambience that was created in the game was so dreamy and tender, similar to what one feels when falling in love with another. Tears were streaming from my face when the memories segment came in. What a beautiful way to honor the relationship between the two of you. I really like the progression of the game, from cringy "welcome to the new chapter of your life" and "chores" to twisty "perhaps this isn't just a regular VR expirience" and than incredibly awesome and wholesome continuation with fairy graphics, nostalgic music an pictures. The finish is just incredible. Smooth and perfect.

I am watching the love of two total strangers I will never meet. I am watching peoples memories that only these two humans share out of the 8 billion people and it feels so special and unique, even though so many more have had similar experiences. I am watching something I have never known before, in my 19 years of living. Love this deep, that is. I am watching a major landmark in someone else's life and could not feel more happy for them, though I haven't a clue who they are. I am watching someone that is an amazing game developer, and someone who is an amazing planner. I am watching someone amazing, and it gives me hope that someday I can experience something similar. If these people could do it, why can't you? The Awsner? You can! Just open your heart to love again and don't be scared. Imagine if Micha Kolbe was scared of making this game? We or his wife wouldn't have come this far. I love you all, and this amazing video.
