The quality of these videos is great... Also, I can't imagine being even part-time content creator(as in youtuber or something), but knowing how much goes into it, makes me appreciate it more and more.

I plan to focusing on manga for a little while because I want to get better at the technical stuff. As for inspiration... it's amazing how many things can inspire you... But weirdly I also plan to try to find more inspiration in myself (as in - I think I have seen and read and felt so many things, so if I learn to use what I already have, it will make the upcoming things that I see, feel and learn more effective...) It's difficult to explain my thought process, but yeah, imprisoning your mind is bad.

I would like to provide the counter-argument why limit to imagination is important. And that is to prevent things from making the very awesome idea in your head into total nonsense when it is written down as a story. This happened to me before when I was a teenager and it made me realized that to make a good story, you needed to conduct some serious researches about what you wanted to write and must plan in advance like for a whole year. And did you have the idea of what you wanted to write as your first manga with a number of story arcs when you managed to become a mangaka? If not, I might be able to help you out. I am good with making ideas.

I see where you're coming from, and I totally agree. What you're saying is actually one part of my whole message. I'm saying that at the start of the process of formulating a story, you should start from a broad pool of ideas. Then it will be your job as a mangaka/writer to narrow down that list, identify what you need to focus on, and then concentrate on it. A broad band of ideas will give you some ideas on how to stand out from your peers. The ability to filter out the ideas that won't work for you is what you will develop by experience, just like what you learned when you were a teenager. You will only know what is "total nonsense" by comparing your stories to better-written stories, and the only way to find out what is truly good is to expose yourself to a lot of ideas. Thus the need to branch out to other genres/media. As an example - I talked to some Japanese people about the isekai genre and some of them agree with me that it has become formulaic over the years, and most isekai writers don't have unique ideas anymore because they only study other isekai manga. The genre is almost self-cannibalizing because it's feeding off of itself. Just my 2 cents. But I totally understand what you're saying. :D

@@kusanagi420 Thank you for understanding my intention! I remembered there is one time I came across a website that said there should be more manga and anime focused more on the medieval Arab world because that was when the Arab world was at the height of its power. And I think this is correct. After all, I never seen the stories focused on the Arab-Byzantine Wars or how the lives in al-Andalus after the fall of the Umayyad Caliphate based in Cordoba was like through the eyes of the characters who lived there during the time period before. Heck, there is even a story of the Arabic-speaking Pope who is a humanist before the Renaissance was even a thing but ended up being called out for making a deal with a Devil because of his attempt to put an end to practices like simony. This can be a story about a good man who tried to promote knowledge and improve the society but ended up being called out by those who wanted to maintain the corrupted status quo out of selfishness. I'm merely offerring you something that barely being done in Japanese manga and anime industry here because it has been said that the stories about the medieval Arab world and their neighboring countries are not covered much in manga and anime. It is up to you to pick one of them up or not. But if you wanted something isekai but still different from the typical isekai, how about a story about the human protagonist trapped in the world of Elves? In that story, you can make the Elves behaved just like us humans because the protagonist will be the only human around. Plus, I always believed that all sapient lifeforms have the same emotions and the same needs like us humans. But what really unique here is that this will be the world of Elves alone. You know, with a number of Elven nations all over the place and that all Elves behaved just like us humans. What do you think?
