@@BiteSizedCrafter what? I mean, he came out with his art boxes before she did and she’s explicitly stated he gave her the courage to do hers. But what does him being the first or not matter? It’s just fun that’s he’s reached the evolution as a creator that he can just decide to make something and be able to because he’s built up enough connections/finances/etc. We don’t need to compare creators, that’s not what the YT art community is about. 💖
@bootercup001

@@BiteSizedCrafter Looks like you might mean the idea for this video, which doesn’t relate to my original comment but I gotchya. My comment was about something he said in the video unrelated to the topic of the video; if you’d watched it you’d understand. As for who did what first…The YT art community shared ideas and a lot of these bigger artists are friends and share ideas, too. Jazza may not have realised she did that, he’s usually pretty good about saying when he saw someone else do something and linking them; that’s kind of his whole deal lol. So most likely he wasn’t aware - and yes, it’s absolutely possible for people to have the same idea, and it DOES happen. But even if not, they’re friends. If she disliked this she’d let him know, bet. 😂

I use this kit for the physics of vision. The pigments are called subtractive color (like absorbing wavelengths of light). Kids always get so confused because they are taught that the primary colors are red, yellow and blue and then I show them magenta, cyan and yellow. Minds blown.

Interesting that your first kit is actually CMY and then the others had red. That not only ruins the recipes, using red as a base instead of magenta caps off a lot possible colours! I really don't get how in certain places RYB got taught as primary colours, especially for painting, here we learnt CMY and i really think it gives kids a better base to understanding colour. (I know this is a hot topic, but i always use the printer example. Printers can produce actual life accurate photos, printers have CYM+B and white from the paper. Because those are the true primaries that you can use to make any colour)

For an adult version, I have visions of something like the paint mixer at a hardware store... a machine that syncs with an app on your phone via bluetooth. The app will left you find the hex code a color or object and then you can input that hex code and the machine will "print" your perfect color into the housing shape of your choice. Fine point, around, oval... whatever casing you prefer. There would also be a manual mode that lets you input number of drops per mixing color and it mixes it for you. You should check out the custom lipstick machine... similar principles but the marker one would be far superior, I'm sure.

@@jennw6809 good to know. I get feustradćted sometimes making impressionistic landscape from life if i lack simplicity of technique, but i didnt know about this grander depth of color being a part of better and more impressive compositiom

@@ajmosutra7667 A great technique is to make paintings with just 2 colors and their mixes. For instance, Raw Sienna and Ultramarine are lovely compliments and you can paint landscapes with those two colors alone!

@@jennw6809 I wouldn’t allow my students to use black in multiple applications when I was teaching middle school art just so they would use the complimentaries instead. Made for much better art pieces.

That was awesome Jazza! I love how you went from 0 to 60 with the quality of the markers. Do you think more average ink like India ink, or alcohol inks from other brands would work with these? Also please make the pro-version!
@somebodyawesome7296
@somebodyawesome7296 2 жыл бұрын
I definitely don't recommend India ink! It dries so badly it ruins fountain pens and it resists water and moisture, meaning it probably won't mix well with anything.

It's amazing to explore art mediums for the first time as an adult, with a mind for cost. I was lucky enough to first get into watercolor. when i discovered the advantages of artist quality paints, my collection exploded and I felt like I was spending so much on paints. Then once I had some sense for transparent mediums I tried Copic markers and realized what a gift watercolor is, that it lasts so long and goes so far when compared to alcohol ink. Now my Copic collection is relegated to their fantastic refillable fineliners, which compliments my Daniel Smith collection nicely for pen and wash. In the end, building a palette out of Copic markers seemed like too much of an undertaking.

If you mean the felt tip ones, I agree. The "real brush" type, I suspect, would dry out too fast. Of course, brand would matter, because not all caps are created equally.
