Nice work. I wonder if we will ever see a company producing medieval-esque shoes with modern soles?

Great idea! I have been searching around for a couple days for something like this. I was planning on just laying leather over a modern shoe and just figuring out how to attach it. But cutting off to leave enough to sew to and then putting elastic to keep the sole to your foot is brilliant!

I wonder if you could use some pine pitch to waterproof them at the seam with the sole?? They look freaking amazing; I've been too chicken to cut up my shoes and try it so I applaud your courage!

The shoes look great!! I make a lot of Viking stuff and I have always wondered if I can use comfy sneakers to make my creations! Geez real turn shoes you can feel every stone! If you’re enjoying the festivities at the Renn Faire you always have to watch where your walking or it really hurts. I’m going to try your idea I even have black soles shoes to use. Also the Welsh Viking is a great channel! 👍🏻💪🏻

Those look great, maybe distress the leather a bit, there is a bit of a shine on them now.
