Amazing run my boy. I think what that chatter was trying to say at the end was to change the order of your blueprint to copy the king. With the red seal it goes like this: Copying mime would be: (1.5*1.5)^4 = 25.62 whereas Copying Baron is: (1.5*1.5*1.5)^3 = 38.44. WITHOUT a red seal is: Copying mime: (1.5*1.5)^3 = 11.39 and copying Baron is: (1.5*1.5*1.5)^2 = 11.39. SO... to wrap up, WITH a red seal, it's better to copy baron, and without a red seal, it makes no difference which one you copy. So, you shoulda copied baron with blueprint. Womp womp, still an amazing run, hope you feel better.

Read some other comments about what the Blueprint could have been on, and I heard about a Balatro calculator earlier today, so I threw the hand at 58:54 in there. Said calculator says Blueprint on Baron is 1.1318e19, as opposed to 4.4164e17 when Blueprint is on Mime; you get three procs three times (once + seal + mime), i.e. nine, instead of two procs four times (once + seal + mime + bluep), i.e. eight. It's counterintuitive, because x4 sounds better than x3 without further context. I was confused, looking at the breakdown tab! So I think this means Frost could have been top two if Blueprint was on Baron. Maaaaaan! Oh well, part of being good at Balatro is noticing/thinking of these things... Very well played, regardless!

first of all, this is just a silly little game of playing card and seeing big numbers, the run was really cool, and the video was very fun, thank you frosty-p-chan. Anyways, with mime, baron and steel kings i think the thinking process should be like this: -you have skills and triggers; -2 skills, with baron and steel; -2 triggers with base card and mime. so you end up with a total of 4 procs, from 2 skills times 2 triggers. When it comes to adding more you want to balance them out to maximize the ammount of procs. So, if you have 1 copy (blueprint) and red seal kings, you'll have: -2 skills, only baron and steel; -3 triggers, we gained one from red seals; -1 of either, since blueprint can copy either baron or mime. Thus, if you copy mime you'll have 4 triggers and 2 skills, resulting in 8 procs. If you copy baron you get 3 skills and 3 triggers, resulting in 9 procs. So yeah, copying baron was better, unless i'm mistaken about something, lmk if you think i am. Either way, that's really convoluted and annoying to think about, so whatever. If you read all of this, get fucked -5 minutes LMAO.

One thing that really surprised me watching this run was how often Frost refused to use Hanged Man on trash number cards when he was opening a tarot booster pack. I'd thought that when your strategy relies entirely on a couple of cards, you really want to get rid of the rest to be consistent.

blueprint was better on baron as soon as you had more red seal steel kings in hand because mime isnt multiplicative, it's additive to the red seal similar to sock and buskin.

nah, selling that dna for the steel joker was the wrong play look at it this way: the DNA was scaling points harder per round than the steel could ever hope to; those duped kings were producing (with the already mentioned less efficient joker layout) a 1.5^8 multiplier, which is a 25.6 multiplier (mime on baron would be a x38 multiplier!), whereas the steel joker was only producing ~x10 shame no one caught that one while he was ready to sell; people have to recognize on a run like this the DNA card is in fact a HUGE chip generator

You could have got 1.13e19 if you blueprint baron last hand, but awesome effort nonetheless! But yeah baron is 1.5x more mult per held red seal steel king (1.5^(3x3) vs 1.5^(2x4)) so with 8 red seal kings that is 1.5^8 more mult which is 25x bigger which woulda taken you just over the e19 threshold
