Great idea beefing up the plate. I’ve always used 3in decking screws with the standard plate. Definitely going to look into these. Thanks Jason and as always very informative video.

A good follow up on this is to use a good long deck screw into each hinge on the other side. Most hinges have three screws per hinge but they are short, so take out one of those and replace with one long enough to get into the stud, but do not warp the door frame over tightening. With both sides locked down you have max safety.

Great instructional video Jason, frankly I think a better strike plate is a good idea because the flimsy things that come with every door bolt or knob just fail, so I wont mention windows, we'll just pretend intruders are too slow to figure out how to get in that way. :) Do like that strike plate, have to say.

Nice commercial Jason! I like that new dead bolt strike plate. What my sister always says is that the wall is easier to go through than a door. This does secure the door very well. I like it!

Hey Jason, Speaking as a Professional Door Guy that was a Great Video and explanation of how to install a Strike plate. But you realize Somone could just smash that Vision Kit in the Door and turn the deadbolt themselves.. But I don't wanna be a Debbie Downer, that's just the world we live in. Looks like a good product, now you need to speak to the manufacturer to come up hinge plates with the same screw type. As that is a week point too.

Liked your commercial. Feel that I could put one of these on successfully. Love the tips. Don’t think I have enough room to put in those long structural screws.
