@@VioletLife8 Oh how life has a nasty surprise in store for you. Guess you've never had a boss, much less a job you could not afford to lose. No worries, reality will come crashing in on your sheltered life sooner than you might think. Having to communicate with others in order to maintain a job is not the "wild" part. That adjective instead applies to those who have not yet experienced life, nor the reality that everyone will have to do something they are not a fan of, especially if maintaining employment is the end goal.

You'd be surprised how easy it is to get away from the crowds. That's why it's on such a huge expanse of land. Sure, the arial shots seem wild and the camping area seems crowded but you learn where the big crowds tend to be and it's easy to avoid them 🙂 there is so much room to adventure that you really don't feel like you're in a huge crowd 🙂 it's bigger than you realize until you try and walk from one end to the other. So, I answered your question, have a good day, or night.

Rock festivals do their best to have some sort of nursing station but, with all those partiers, you just had to know something bad might happen. Out of 70,000 people, that's great odds! My suggestion for next year, just in case. Planks and plywood to put down for that next deluge!😂😂😂

@@bluepandamanAnyone who can afford to get into BM is richer than most of the middle class in this U.S. country, I'd wager. Think about it. BM costs as much to attend as an ambulance costs to be called and utilized ($3.5-$5k), IF you don't outright buy a newer RV bc you've learned the hard Playa lessons by now (cost = at least $50k). Most middle class Americans hesitate or won't call 911 for an ambulance out of fear of the cost (bc they can't AFFORD it) and that's a LIFE saving need, not a privilege-packed art/psytrance fest in the middle of what would otherwise be pristine desert land. This is especially true for our POC. The amount of money and privilege required to not only afford--but prioritize--BM over having an emergency fund for ambulance calls or other major necessities should speak for itself. Rich isn't having millions--it's having enough to spend on a sOuL aWaKeNiNg JoUrNeY while others in your same social tier struggle to put food on their tables. BLM and NV put up with it bc of the $$ it brings to the local gov't. All around, BM and everything to do with it is all about the money, and for the attendees: the imagined special social status they all give themselves for "being a Burner". 🙄

I'm trying to have compassion for the Burners who never have gone before, and the Burners who went for a special occasion like to get married, celebrate an anniversary, etc. As for the rest... 🤷‍♀️ Weather in the desert is always unpredictable and this event costs literal thousands of dollars to get in, so if you can afford that then either you were well prepared for this or you didn't give a damn one way or the other. Can't feel bad for that. Considering the mud, I'll use the old addage, "You made this decision and now you're gonna stick with it." Burning Man used to stand for something extra beyond just the white privilege that founded it. Now it's just about the privilege and I'm sick of how extra self-absorbed this event makes those who attend. 🙄 "Look, Karen, I get that you pranced around like a naked fairy for a week on the Playa and you feel like your soul is an actual fairy now, but I will not be addressing you as Princess Sparkle Fairy during staff meetings."

there's more than one issue than just rain - air pollution, etc. Saying 'if it doesn't rain' takes one away from the rest of the problems surrounding rain and a lack of it. It's all connected - disconnecting one variable just doesn't change anything! That said - it likely could rain more - so what does it matter? If it doesn't, then they get a false sense of safety and then maybe something even more destructive is coming their way. Just like everything else in life... You have to take the good with the bad. Look how many years things have gone well and there was no rain. I do believe though that it's gotten to big. With seventy plus thousand people it may be testing the upper limits. I heard that one of the major stone cold valid concerns was the Porta-potty problem. The vehicles needed to service and maintain them were unable to get out there and the black water tanks on most RV's are limited to capacity. Take the present swamp like conditions and throw in some raw sewage adds a new demention to the saying "From bad to worse". Well this will certainly be one for the records. For me, if all expenses were paid and I was guaranteed first class in every aspect it would be easy to say: No thank you.

Not to be gross or anything but at 2 pounds of solid human waste per person per day times 73,000 people works out to 73 tons a day. Back when it was a much smaller event we used 5gal buckets with a toilet seat attached and in each bucket was Kitty litter. On the side of the bucket was attached a roll of toilet paper and a bag of kitty liter. You did your business and when done would scoop the Kitty liter over the poop until covered (helps keep the flies down) and be on your way. These buckets were placed out around the perimeter about 150 feet or so. No modesty shield just you and your bucket for God and everyone else to see. Those were the old days.
