Hiii guys! In this video, I made paintings from song lyrics! I've decided to call this series "Song Makeovers" because it involves turning songs into paintings. The basic concept: what if "Deja Vu" by Olivia Rodrigo, "Astronomy" by Conan Gray, and "Mirrorball" by Taylor Swift were paintings? This video was definitely a different and interesting thought experiment. I had a lot of fun making these painting and I hope you like them :)

About me:
Hi, my name is Marissa (AKA Bellamena)! Making videos about art is my favorite thing to do. I'm not a professional artist or anything (I'm actually a Computer Scientist 🤓) , but I have a lot of fun trying to make stuff look cute. I am BAD at Drawing hands so I have to draw a little dots and a cuff for its thumb I am going to be you when I grow up probably bc I am bad at hands

This is such a creative idea! The ice cream one was prob my favorite. Another reason the paint was weird on that canvas could have been because gauche is part watercolor and watercolor doesn’t work as well on regular canvases. Still turned out really cool tho

Hi! I love how they turned out! If you use those canvases again you should apply a layer of gesso first to smooth them out.

Ugh I love/hate those dollar store canvases lol. If you have Acrylic Gesso handy, a layer of that before painting smoothes it out much better 😁👍

This is such a great idea, I think the sponges are for absorbing excess paint that maybe dripped somewhere it wasn't supposed to.

Btw the sponges are for putting in the water you use to wash your paintbrushes. It helps get all of the paint off if you brush the paintbrush against it.

This is a wonderful idea and I think that Tigga Mac has done similar, like takes album covers and song lyrics and then decorates cakes to replicate the colour palate and feel of it, and I think that it's really cool!

I love how she just accepts that she made a mistake like ‘no more excuses’ and the way she did care about the mirrorball being in air or on ground and that we should not try standing on a mirrorball with our heels 😂😂

My middle school art teacher wanted my class to do this, but it had to be completely abstract, i ended up not being able to complete it because the abstract part was giving me too much trouble
