Just making is so that when a player hits another player they’re the one who gets hurt would be a great way to anti-grief griefers in servers or chunks that are intended to be peaceful. Maybe make it so that the effect only happens to people not wearing a certain tag. Also apply it to attempting to break or burn blocks and openings chests as well - so that if they try to burn down some ones base they’re the one who catches on fire, if they try to steal from the ‘owner’ of the chunk they instantly die when they open a chest, and if they try to break anything that isn’t theirs they get the damage instead of the item.

hey the way that the thorns 1 billion enchant with the "hit yourself" coding works is that when you hit urself it gives dmg so if you have thorns it will hit you over and over again till you die

For the question "if you punch yourself and it hurts, are you strong or weak ?" The answer is , in my opinin, you're strong, because you are strong enough to hurt someone who is strong, if you were weak then you would'nt have been able to hurt yourself
