[In this video Throbbs from MQ shows that it is possible to make Quad Skates out of almos any type of shoe. That doesn't mean that we suggest you to use this style of shoe (probably not the best option out there). But is always good practice to build new stuff!!

Would there be a way to do this but make so you can take the shoe off and walk around normally and then clip them on again?

yes. there are a few options you can buy right now. check flanuerz or slades. if you're looking to make your own, that would require some engineering.
