Dearest Dr. Raga! I’m not sure if you’re ever going to get a chance to read this, but nevertheless! I just wanted to let you know, that I don’t know you personally, but you are so DEEPLY INSPIRING and your journey has been so wonderful to witness. It feels like yesterday when I discovered your channel when you were a first year trainee, and look at you now! Doing a fellowship in such a NICHE, elite and competitive specialty in one of the largest, most dynamic cities in the States. Every time i used to watch your videos, i would be so amazed and tell myself, my God this girl is living out my dream life! Congratulations raga I am looking into paediatric neurology or neurosurgery, I am still unsure if I want the instant rewards in neurosurgery or take up the research opportunities along with opportunities to solve problems on a larger spectrum such as congenital anomalies in paediatric neurology. As of now I am equally passionate about both, so can you please tell me something about this. I am also self taught and take my own knowledge growth more seriously than my exam marks, hence was almost expelled on multiple occasions from high school, but none of it has affected my passion. Anyways can you please tell me your thoughts on what you think I should do from a doctor’s point of view, btw thanks a lot for your insight on surgery and my main question is how open are hospitals in terms of allowing surgeons to carry out never before performed surgeries on patients who would otherwise pass away since that’s the main thing taking me towards neurosurgery but otherwise I would take up paediatric neurology.
