With my friend Roger, we start cycling from Wadi Halfa, heading South, across the desert, to Abri. We start very early, but as midday approaches, the heat starts to be unbearable, so we hide for a few hours in a cafeteria where we enjoy some lentils. After that, we continue our way, and we arrive in a very surprising gold mining town full of people from al over Sudan. The people are very curious about us, and they surround us. We enjoy some camel meat.
Then we cycle a bit further to find a place to camp, and the next day, we finish our way to Abri, where I arrive completely exhausted, and I jump in the Nile to refresh myself.

Glad to see you had a good time in Sudan. As Sudanes American very proud of my people and their hospitality. They might be poor but they are honest and happy and they will give you the shirt off their back. Enjoy Sudan be careful in the bigger cities other than that just drink a lot of bottled water and take salt with it. Peace.

Yves! You made that young man's day by speaking French with him. I live where no one speaks French. I am always so excited when I meet a native French speaker and they graciously allow me to practice with them. Il faut pratiquer! Edit to add: when I listen to French speakers in West Africa, I can barely understand a word they are saying, but I could understand every word from this young man.

You need a power converter. Each country uses a different current of electricity. A number between 220 and 110 volts. Maybe that's why the batteries don't charge as fast as you expect. If you can buy a power converter adapter, you will not have these problems in different places. Of course, if you can find it there

People in Sudan seem extremely kind. Sorry about your bad incident in Lebanon please know those are a tiny minority even as Lebanese we avoid those places because of people like that. I also hope people in the Arab world understand that the camera is a photography device it poses no harm, social media is everywhere people use it upload their pics for all to see, a tourist or blogger walking with a camera is not your enemy, stop being afraid of the camera people.
@tonbezembinder7692
@tonbezembinder7692 Жыл бұрын
Why are some Arab people angry at the camera? I noticed during my tour in Syria in 2008 that women in particular can look very angry, especially women with black clothes, Europeans, but also in Colombia, Mexico, etc. People like it when you film or take photos.
@a59x
@a59x Жыл бұрын
@@tonbezembinder7692 they seem to take it personal, like an invasion of privacy, in some military tensed areas this can get you killed, the place where he got robbed in Lebanon if he filmed in an area he was not supposed to be filming in a militia could have kidnapped him, takes so much bravery to film in those locations. I don't know man it's the social media age everyone has a smartphone with a camera so why the fuss? He's not like filming with bad intentions he's showing those countries so others might visit, makes me sad how they react, imagine how bad those people can be off the camera.

Hi at the end of the vedio I can see that you swam in the Nile, be careful because Nile in other African countries is different than the Nile in Egypt, in Egypt there is no crocodiles because of the High Dam which built by Egyptian government prevents the passage of crocodiles to Egypt so in Egypt you can swam in Nile as there is no crocodiles can pass to Egypt however in other Africa countries it is dangerous to swam in Nile because of crocodiles
