This past weekend I had the honor of meeting a few of my childhood idols at the Sacramento Toy Show--voice actor greats Peter Cullen (Optimus Prime), Frank Welker (Megatron) and John Ratzenberger (Cheers)! The combined list of credits of these individuals would take me days to type. So here are just a few that you may or may not be aware of:
Peter Cullen - Optimus Prime, Iron HydePredator, Eeyeore, Red Skull, Sour Puss from PAc-Man
Frank Welker - Megatron, Soundwave, Fred Jones from Scooby Doo, Aladdin's Cave of Wonders, Dr. Claw, Garfield, Smurfs
John Ratzenberger - Cheers, Empire Strikes Back, Every Pixar Movie (Hamm, Mack, Yeti, P.T. Flea)
There was a lot of waiting in line. But I was able to snag photos with Peter, Frank and John and get some art prints and Funko Pops signed.

That's awesome! Was hoping I'd be able to hear them do some voices, but it was a pretty busy day for them. And didn't want to hold up the very long line. Very cool experience!

Yep, he has voice so many characters over the years. He was the Cave of Wonders in Aladdin, Fred in Scooby-Doo, and even made dog sounds in Cujo! Talk about versatility!

That’s so awesome you met Frank and Peter! Two distinctive voices who defined my childhood!! That must have been such an amazing experience. Im a huge transformers fan and I hope one day I can meet them as well and hopefully grab a pic and autograph!!

I totally understand what you mean with the autograph troubles. It happens. I waited hours after my favorite bands concert and finally they came out after 2am!! They signed my album cover with a silver sharpie I brought but the gloss surface didn’t work well with an older sharpie. The signature is there but not too noticeable. However I still will always have the experience of meeting, talking and getting a signature of my favorite band.

Sorry to hear about those mishaps with your art signings. On the bright side you have stories to share behind each one. Cool you got to meet “Cliff” from Cheers. I loved (still love) that show growing up. Best theme song on television in my book. 👍🏽

Hahhaha, that's some crazy random happenstances with your signatures, but it made it all the more memorable though I'm sure! Peter and Frank were so cool and friendly! They say don't meet your heroes but I'm so glad I did ^_^ It was awesome to meet you as well and thanks so much for the photo!

AWESOME, MEETING BOTH OF THEM. YEAH SORRY ABOUT THE DRIPS. THAT IS ALWAYS A PROBLEM WITH PAINT PENS. THEY BLEED AND TAKE TIME TO DRY. YOU WOULD SEE EVERYONE BLOWING ON THEIR AUTOGRAPHS, TO STORE THEM AWAYS. ALWAYS TAKE YOUR OWN SHARPIES, AND SHAKE THE PAINT PENS BEFORE HAND. CONGRATS ON THE COOL HAUL.👊🏽

yeah most often than not, with so many variables, things don't go according to plan. but I'm sure you'd chuckle years later looking at it, thinking back. as opposed to a properly signed, no ink stain type deal if everything went without a hitch. novelty fades off after awhile anyway. not really into any if these ip(s) not familiar with the people behind it, but great content as always DT!
