Can’t believe the folk who did the original work decided to fleece Ollie ex SBS and expected to get away without him finding out. Even when you watch the owner saying how good he was, you can see he’s nervous. Anyway “It’s not the cataclysmic failure, it’s the monumental recovery” Well done fellas, excellent job…I know who to come to when, if I get my pinz.

I use general grabber x3 265 65 18s on both d3 and d4 they’re great on and off road ! Loving the sprinter and the pinz ! Never thought about moving onto another vehicle until I watched this !

Hi Liam, Rich, Great video and some amazing comments, it's never too late to go back to basics on anything!. (And sometimes we all need to be reminded of this!) One thing I would like to see more of is the "basic kit" i.e what EVERY vehicle should not be leaving home without, more so in winter conditions. Not only for laning, or long distance travelling, but for everyday use as well. Rich, I like you am a bit of a "prepper" , I believe in having more kit than is needed, or should I say "other options". In 9 times out of 10 the kit I carry is not for me but for others who never seem to have what is needed when it is MOST needed so I carry an abundance of extras. Just like Liam, I have a military background, but I for the past 15+ years have worked on humanitarian projects in some of the most hostile environments around the globe, and have seen how many of these so called "professional companies" send their team's out into hostile and remote areas with little or no kit whatsoever. I would like to see content or a breakdown on what you carry or need and what extra items you carry and why. I myself have seen far too many times (even in the UK on lanes) how people have either got stuck or broken down who don't even have the basics in the vehicle to carry them through 12 hrs let alone anything longer. Then these individuals are begging for recovery when it was them who put themselves in that situation in the first place and don't have the required experience or equipment to keep them safe until recovered. As Liam said; far to many KZfaqrs showing how easily it can be done, yet they never show you how hard it can be when things go wrong. Video editing is an amazing thing and we all know that expeditions are not as simple as how some of these are showing it. You never seem to see how they cocked something up as they deleted that out of their videos. In the UK some people NEVER want to leave their vehicles even if life threatening situations, 9 times out of 10 its because they don't even carry a grab bag or go bag and have nothing to keep themselves dry let alone warm. Educational lessons on what to carry, and when to abandon their vehicles would be an amazing video lesson for many! I know that most people will go against this and say that you never leave your vehicle, but I can assure you that this could be the only possibility and they need to have the basics with them when they do. Loving the videos and loving the content as always. So much so I have just subscribed to your Patreon "Above and beyond" membership. Hi Liam, I have just watched the "The toughest campervan in the world? pinzgauer synergy 1" video and I caught your bit regarding the CB radio. You should look at something like an Anytone AT-6666 HF/CB radio Liam, it'll give you 10m, 40 Ch CB, USB and LSB.

Recently went to Albania with a guy in a LWB Sprinter with a very nice and luxurious interior, it easily coped with anything that my 130 could. It helped he didn’t give a fuck and drove it like he stole it. I’ve done 13000 miles in my 130 in the year I’ve had it, driven to Albania and back and Morocco and back, the motorway miles do get old very quickly in a Defender, I can see why Sprinters are becoming so popular for overlanding, I’ve done a few things to make it more comfortable, smaller steering wheel, lifted the seat a bit, and moved the handbrake so I actually have room for my left leg. I do still look enviously at any Disco 3 that thunders past in the lap of luxury.

Really great video. Found the channel after Rich’s video and really enjoyed hearing you both talk. Brave man telling Rich he is wrong 😂 I think I would buy the Sprinter for me but I’d be envious and wanting the Pinz all the time

Excellent video lads. Loved the subjects you covered and it’s interesting to hear your opinions on things. One subject I would be interested to hear more on is the first aid kit. Whats a good base kit, can this be bought or does it have to be made and using what brands etc!
